Chase card closed, is it a permanent ban?

My first Chase card (CFU) was closed after two statements.

Here are the reasons we closed your account
• Too many accounts opened recently
• Not enough credit information on file
• The accounts on your credit report have not been open long enough

I though thoes should be reasons for rejecting instead of closing. But anyway, I'm wondering whether this closure is a sign of permanent ban. Thanks a lot!

Curious for your data points. Did other new accounts hit your report after your CFU approval? If so how many? Also, what was the SL on your CFU?

This is typical Chase behavior when too many new accounts were opened at one time. It's even more common with young, thin files. They're not keen on being part of any type of app sprees.

It's a time out, a warning to pump the brakes, not a ban.

Yes, there was another account (CapitalOne Savor) added to my report in the same month.

My SL(CreditLimit right?) was $2.6k.

Only one other account. Not exactly an app spree. Just goes to show how sensitive Chase can be to multiple apps in certain situations. Maybe has something to do with being right on that 5/24 line (where that C1 account, had it reported prior to the Chase app, would have put you over it).

1. The C1 Savor was approved at Oct 22 (the 4th/24), and the CFU was approved at Nov 21

2. I don't have one yet. Shall I open a checking account before next app?

Interesting, yea maybe if you waited a month or so more after the C1 you may have been ok.

Any idea what the exact approval dates for all 5 cards were?

I would say opening a checking account with a few hundred and applying in branch wouldnt hurt, also if you need to recon next time the branch could call for you
