I'm coming up on the af for us bank shoppers visa. I've decided the 6% isn't adding up to the fee for me. Rather than closing the account, I'm thinking I'll pc it to a no fee card. My second spend cat is dining, which I presently cover at 3% with either savior or commerce connections visa. I'm thinking, 4% is better than 3%.

Anyone have experience with U.S. BANK ALTITUDE® GO VISA for dining? Does it work for both fast food and real resturants? I've been checking savior closely, works everywhere.

There are always some odd ball ones that may not be what you expect like a restaurant/bakery that may not use the MCC of a restaurant but have not been too much of an issue.

Technically, Altitude Go is 4 points per dollar and not 4% per dollar. Depending upon how you redeem the points, you may wind up with less than 4%. US Bank moved to dynamic reward pricing for many of its cards in April 2025. If I recall correctly, US Bank requires reward redemptions to be sent to a US Bank deposit account to receive the full 1% per point. Real-Time-Rewards and statement credits don't necessarily equate to 1% per point. Make sure you read the fine print to see if your redemption value will match your expectations.

I've had the Go card for a little over a year and no complaints. It gives 4 points for pretty much everything food related. Can combine with their cash back reward offers that have a lot of food related ones.

They also have the strange streaming credit thing where if you pay a streaming service for 11 months straight they will credit you for the 12th.

Used to be uncapped and no FTF but they changed that about a year ago not long after I got it which is a bummer.

You do have to deposit the points to a US Bank checking/savings account to get full redemption. You also can only redeem in $25 increments which I'm not a huge fan of.

I've got the usb shoppers to either pc or cancel fairly soon.

I now realize my sub chasing has left me with a mishmash of cards. I now have three cards that pay 3% on dining, lol. I now have 11 cards with 9 banks, I would like to reduce the number of banks. I suppose I'm going to have close some sock drawer cards cards to do that. I was quite happy when I got the wells active cash as a 2% catchall, now the aven 3% has pushed it into the sock drawer.

Yep, there are better options out there. However, if the OP is looking to not do new apps, the GO is a solid chocie for them to product change into. My suggestion is do that for the short-term and see where it fits for any long-term set up. It could be that categories other than dining may be better chased for a new app than the dining one where they could move up to 4% cash back with little to no effort or risk.
