Amex Questions...

I have a few questions about Amex...

Is Amex bk friendly...meaning if you have a BK on your CR do they deny you right off the bat?

I had many accounts with Amex in early 2000...one of which I did a settlement on was a plat business..I owed 14.5k settled for 12k

This account is not on my CR anymore

I have about six closed accounts with Amex all in good standing..one I paid in full 43k..never late

Do you think I will always be denied a card because of the settlement, even though no longer on my CR, I am afraid its in their internal computer system, this is why I ask

Should I call and inquire to see if I can start paying the difference between what was settled and the settlement amount...about 3k...

I also don't know if I want to open pandoras box though

What are your thoughts?

For starters, it is doubtful that an approval is possible with a BK still reporting, especially for Amex. This is just my opinion.

Also, Amex has a memory like an elephant, so there's a good chance you're still in their system. I would at least wait for the BK to fall off before applying with Amex.
