Golden 1 Credit Union

I have interest in the card the card linked below. To me it looks like a solid card.

This credit union is geofenced to California only.

I would be interested in any feed back from those who are members of the Golden 1 credit union. Also if anyone else has any feedback on this card I would like to hear it.

I've always liked this card. It falls in to that category of "I really, really like it, but just don't quite need it" category. You're in CA, right Andy?

Not applicable to @AndySoCal but I had a negative experience several years back. I applied, they did a hard pull and then said, oh you have to be in CA (which I wasn't). Always thought they could have checked that before the HP, but I've slowly got over it!

^^^^ Same for me.

Card has been around and had this reward structure for some time, and still alive.

The card was a competitor to the Bank of the West 3% card, 10 years ago.

Not something new or untested.

They actually improved it (for some), changing unlimited 3% gas to 4% with a cap.

Also like the auto rewards monthly few issuers seem to do.

Have not seen anything negative about it in the forum, that I can remember.

Something about my call with Golden 1 has been bugging me. The representative said something to effect of I know Golden 1 does this ... I know some credit union use a third party for credit card problems but not for everyday customer service. So I decided not to persue a credit card wth them for now.
