I've seen threads go off-topic (which, personally, I don't care but I respect the desire to stay on topic, if that's important here). But, for this one, the segway wasn't too far stretched. OP: "Guys, I want to know more about this 2% card, can you tell me more?". Poster: "Yes we can, but, instead of a 2% card, have you thought of a 3% card?". I do think that kind of reply is being helpful. I think OP got good answers regarding the Fidelity as early as page one. He went on to ask no more questions about the 2% Fidelity but he did, on page 3, ask a question about the "off-topic" Aven card. To me it's all good. But, I am happy to be more conscientious of staying on topic if it's for the betterment of the forum.

Sorta interested in getting this one.

I lightly looked up about it, but wanted to hear from my fellow MF'ers what they

think about the CC? Pros, Cons? What CB do they pull?

Got this card last fall. Love it. I got a $21,200 starting limit and they pulled Trans Union. I love that it is a no annual fee Visa Signature with no FTF. I have redemption auto deposited into my Cash Management account each month. Super easy 2% card that never leaves my wallet. Also has $100 TSA reimbursement and auto rental collision damage waiver if you need that. In my opinion it's the best 2% card out there.

No fees or minimums. They give you a debit card and free physical checks. Return right now is 3.28% which is a bit higher than the major HYSA. Also, they reimburse all ATM fees for withdrawals, even overseas. I have switched all my savings and checking over to Fidelity since Capital One switched my debit card to the Disco Network. I have several accounts with them: Cash Management (checking), Brokerage (savings), HSA, Roth IRA (me and my wife).

If it was me, I would get the AVEN Visa (no heloc version). 3% on the first 10k per year, then 2% unlimited after. No FTF. With referral you currently get, a one time, 4% on the first 10k, stacked. No HP on application, unless approved.

After getting a RH Gold for 3% backup, I closed my Fidelity Rewards Visa. Was never using it, why settle for only 2%? I do bank with Fidelity.

In my opinion, I can't see getting a 2% card these days. If I did, I would pick up one with a welcome offer. Or, go for a 3% card. You can get an Aven 3% card like EC suggested. You can get a RH Gold 3% card if you can justify the Gold membership (they do have IRA match which can more than cover the annual subscription). You can get an AOD VS 3% card if you don't mind a taxing application process and a $1500/mo cap (W64, don't you already have an AOD?). You can get a citi Double Cash (3%!) card with a nice $200 welcome offer if you are willing to pay your bill with a 1% debit card (1% when you spend, 2% when you pay!).

Welcome offers can be very powerful. It takes a lot of spending at 2%, even 3%, to get the same $200 you can easily get from a welcome offer. For instance, even a 3% no welcome offer card won't beat a 2% + $200 welcome offer card until after $20,000 spend!

I'd much rather manage payments myself so I know exactly what is being paid when.

Answer: HYCA

Like a Fidelity CMA account?

I'm a big fan of the Fidelity 2% card, I already have accounts with them, there is no cap or FTF, it can auto redeem with no minimum into a Fidelity account, has some decent benefits, stupidly easy to use, don't even have to do anything. Any other card over 2% non category seems to have some complications that go along with it.

When the Smartly v1 changes (we all know it will) I'm just going to move the IRA back to Fidelity and use their 2% card. I'm at a point in my life where I will pay a small price for things to just be simple.

I can confirm two things.

When I was first setting my auto pay, there was an option for 1.5% without autopay. Looks like maybe they have changed that. It didn't appear they were as up and running when I first got my card because I had to get confirmation on the 2% and 6%, which took some back and forth.

Second, there is something off or different about them. I get new notices, almost weekly in their app, for balance transfers with the exact amount owed to other cards. They seem to do a hefty amount of digging around (soft pulls I assume).
