The big question is why the secrecy? Why would you not share with us how to maximize the points?

If I read his post correctly, it's a combination of using the points in combination with the free night certificate. The free night works the same at a $100 bottom tier Hilton property or over the water bungaloes in Bora Bora/Maldives that can run thousands per night. If one catches the perfect weekend to redeem points, coupled with the free night certificate, maximum value can be achieved.

Hilton redemption value is much higher on the luxury properties compared to wasting 50k points a night at the local Homewood Suites. It's why most of us pay cash for normal hotels and save points for the nicer places.

There is no double secret methods. At the end of the day you still need spend to get points. If you get lucky or have a lot of stays you just hope it aligns with your travel and locations. Point inflation has also eaten into program value.

Company I work for no longer has us pay for the nights on our own it's all paid via company card. Thankfully we still get the points but can't double dip using my Marriott card on top of it anymore 😭

They only way you're getting deals like that is if you are a heavy frequent guest at a specific hotel. I have over 2500 nights BIB in Marriott and a top guest guest at a hotel in Asia. That hotel will throw me super deals on personal stays. Desirable resort hotels are not giving jack to random vacationer who've never stayed there before.

I also have 400+ nights at Hilton. Same deal.

Yeah, it was a sad day when we went to exclusively using Corporate cards.

The old days before Hilton moved to dynamic award availability were much better for points redemption. Although I'm also skeptical of the ambitious redemption value and cryptic comments. We're past the era of gatekeeping these "secrets" since even Amex provides a membership to Point.me to maximize MR redemption.

It just goes to show you that some people aren't ready, and quite frankly, I don't think I've been known to be dishonest on these forums. It does make me question why even attempt to help anyone here - when they outright show some hostility back. I'd like to think I put quite a bit of time into my posts, posting much information for other peoples benefit. I don't even have to waste that time. But, I am not going to hand hold either.

You can acquire two nights for 95,000 points per night at peak times per year, and two more rooms using the free certs. Each room is approximately valued at $750-$780 per night, plus you toss on fees and tax. $3500. This location is driveable within the US. There are many locations just like it all across the US. Obviously it's not Hawaii or Maldives, or any other exotic location you can't drive to. The flight alone would make the trip null, and wipe out the valuation entirely.

I'm not trying to be hostile, but if everything is on the up and up and these deals exist for everyone, why not share? The secrecy is what makes us somewhat skeptical. The example above...what hotel is this and what month of the year are you booking it in? And could you show us that that room is actually only 95k points? I think that's the part we find unbelievable. I've personally never seen an $800 room for that low of points.

My recommendation is to open up a Hilton Honors website or app, and find locations around the country that offer valued stays, and run those projections based on certain times per year. It's the only way people are going to learn. It's not about being up and up, or down and down (if that makes sense), it's about people putting in the work to educate themselves. I will offer nuggets, mention possibilities, but I'm not going to hand hold.

If you have the means, you can double up with a P2. Simply change what you already spend within your household and instead cycle it through the credit card rather than debit card/check/bank transfer.

Please forgive me if I elect not to engage with this topic any longer. The responses do come across as hold my hand. What do I do next kind of stuff. What exactly do I need to do. Where did you go. When during the year (peak)? I find it a little greedy in my opinion. Yes, the name checks out.

Well, I have searched Hilton quite a bit and I never ever seen an $800 room for 95k points. Ever. Wish you were willing to enlighten us. Not really understanding your insistance on not sharing info.

No more hand holding on this. There is a reason why I'm not providing certain information. That information excels well beyond just understanding this stuff. I mentioned about complex strategies. You guys aren't even ready for this, so I'm not disclosing any of that. That's the stuff I keep close to my chest.

Three or four people in this thread knew with absolute authority, that this wasn't possible, and yet, I've shown it clearly is. Most people don't understand, which is why most people don't enjoy these kinds of opportunities. Start with the basics, grow and learn with time. You don't get to run to the finish line and expect to simply know. That's not a plan, nor is it progression. You skip over the entire part called growth and learning.

Someone else can chime in if they want, because I know someone may have come across this image at some point in time on their Hilton searches. It's a heck of a place to stay. Very enjoyable. The timeframe was late July, peak timeframe. Take your pick, east coast, west coast, or down south, these opportunities are all over. There's a few a drive away from you.

It's like including the fifth night free which everyone gets to be included in your redemption rate.

If this was from a credit card SUB the it's the same as above with meeting SUB spending requirement.

OP stated $3,500 for 200,000 points and finding original post takes too much time.

Well, this isn't really all that hard. You extract value at the time you wish to utilize value. Of course they provide a blanket understanding and umbrella point valuation, as many websites do this. The question is, will your utilization extract that value, or can you do better?

I can take 200k points and two free certs, and extract upwards of $3500 or so value in a prime location and opportunity - like the example mentioned above. I vacation at a beach resort in July/Aug, not in December. Or, I can utilize it in a non-optimal situation that results in as low as a few hundred to a $1000 in valuation if I want to blow a five nights at a Hampton, plus two free certs. Total valuation less than $1000. The intelligent individual maximizes value. Real value at peak times for the event, and not at a time where it drives lesser value.

At the end of the day, you as an individual want the most value for your options. Which situation are you going to partake in? What value, would you like to extract? Take away the points entirely - replace it with real dollar values. That exposes the real valuation.

May I ask, how many $5,000 to $20,000 vacations have you taken in a year - without actually paying for them in cash? Vacations that you've either acheived for nothing more than cycling your monthly spend, or utilizing welcome bonuses, or acquired for next to nothing? You are either doing, or you are not. Not assigning random values that others tell you what their values are worth. The prize is the value extracted upon the real vacations you take, not some projected number that websites tell you - that points are valued at.

This year or all time?

Annually is ok. I think we've gone on maybe eight or so full and mini vacations all/this year, on someone else's dime. Two left for the year, but food and drink credit is going to be minimal. Some credit provided, but will have a bill to eat and drink. The free credit provided, was utilized to make the room free.
