USAA Now Advertising on Radio

USAA is now advertising their banking products (not credit products) on the radio in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale MSA. Looks like they are going mainstream - at least for the bank accounts!

My only thought is someone will have to pay for the advertisement. More fees and higher rates perhaps?

They've been advertising in the DC area for quite some time now, but I guess you have to with competition like Penfed or NFCU w/ the Pentagon and surrounding bases in the area.

The difference is that the CU's products are only available to members. Certain of USAA's banking products are available to everyone.

USAA is a solid company built on customer service and with a mission to serve families of the military. I'm happy they are trying to expand and I'm confident they will not lose their customer service by going more "main stream". They have been relatively slow in opening up membership and allowing non-members to purchase certain products.
