does anyone know how many hsbc cards you can have? has anyone ever sucessfully done a PC? i have a regular platinum mastercard and see they have a card that gives 2% cash back

I tried doing a PC on an HSBC Orchard Platinum card with an AF. They said it was a no-go.

I also tried a PC and they told me that any PC or upgrade has to come from an offer from them.

Ditto from me also. I've tried the PC route many, many times. Always told it's not even possible from the CSRs.

Most of the credit boards say you cannot get more than 2 cards directly from HSBC/Orchard/Household or any combination but you can possibly get a counter offer from Discover for the Direct Rewards Discover Network card thats thru HSBC to have more than 2 or a mail offer while having 2 cards.

I had an Orchard $300, Household $400, and HSBC Best Buy $400 that I combined to a single Household card. Since BB was a rewards card with an AF, they wouldn't add that credit line to the combined account. I ended up closing the BB, combining Orchard and Household to a single Household, and they raised the combined limit from $700 to $1k after I complained about them trying to charge me an AF. Has since gone up to $2k (with a hard inquiry that I didn't consent to).

CBRs now show two closed HSBC accounts (BB and Orchard), and the Household card remaining with the new limit.

I'm sure that makes it clear as mud...

I see what your saying. You didnt get the BB Reward card directly from HSBC it was thru Best Buy it some times lets you slide by because its from a retailer or like the Direct Rewards Discover card is a counter offer thru Discover.

I had a Orchard Bank card then got a HSBC Weekender and applied for a Discover and got counter offered the Direct Rewards card then I had 3 cards but cancelled the Orchard because of the AF and they didnt want to combine the limits. But in actuality HSBC is a strange company with weird lending guidelines
