i called on tuesday and asked if the 6 month 5k cap was only for cc's. the rep said yes. i wanted to be clear, so i asked even tough i have not hit the 6 month history mark can i obtain a sig loan or loc greater than 5k? she said yes.

i decided to app for a loc. she asked how much would i like to app for. i asked if they would counter if i went too high. she said yes. i asked for 40k (max amount for thier loc product). she asks all the usual questions and says you are approved for up to 25k, i say thank you i'll take it. she advised for me to fax a pay stub to a loan officer, which i did.

today the loan officer calls me and says, you're approved. however, even though you were approved for 25k our policy is that unless you have 6 months of jfcu history we can only extend 5k. so i took it.

i did thank her for clarifying the policy, that i thought i had straight when i asked the rep before apping. i also asked if after 6 moths would they auto cli, she said another app would be required. i also asked if they allow multiple cards, she said yes, on a case by case basis.

in short i'm glad that they will be as friendly in 6 months as they are eluding to, hope this info helps others.

p.s. i was also approved for a 25k visa which they droped to 5k (because of the 5k 6 month policy) about 3 weeks ago, so multiple 5k approvals seem to fly.

the rep said they did, but i don't have a daily puller anymore so i can't verify.

lol I guess if I apply for LOC. It would not count as inquiry. I am still in sleigh center

They didn't pull for my LOC app.

Congrats on your new LOC , Kinda baffled with this CU though. Rep told you they only approving for 5k loc... but I got 10k loc

jfcu.org they pull eq. as for baddies, one paid collection, 5 lates from 2003 (on one account), 12 or so accounts in the past year and 12-15 inqs.

to join you have to become a member of the national sheriffs association sheriffs.org

fill out jfcu app when you have an nsa member #

overnight app, notorized copy of driver's license, copy of pay stub, funding to open checking or savings account, and note asking a csr to call you to app for credit product (cc, loc, etc.)

i did the above and i could view my account online the next day and had my card within a week.

I did the other way. I called applied for credit card got approved. Then i went to

Sheriff website and got the nsa number. Now I am waiting for jfcu papers

in the mail as soon I get the papers I will overnight and I will ask them to give

me loc they might not pull the CR again.

why not? anyone can join nsa for a $35 fee.

also, i took your advice and called ca called cap one about the acount my wife opened in my name and incurred some lates on. the account manager said he couldn't see any lates on file and would send a letter to the cra's to dispute how it's reporting. hopefully they get removed, they are the only lates on my reports.

my way was quicker, and being a product of the i want my happy meal now generation that means my way is better!
