Has anyone been approved for a NFCU CC with a CO or lates on credit reports?

I call last week and spoke with a representative and gave her a quick spill of what's currently on my report and my EQ Fico score, she quickly told me that as long as I had derogs on my report tht I would be denied. I thought I read here that some are being approved with derogs on their credit reports, am I wrong? I really need to do a BT with no BT fees like NFCU currently has. I really appreciate your responses.

I have paid charge offs as of Jan 2010 and was able to get a $2000 limit but I have no lates at all. Good luck.

I don't know about NFCU, but I did get an offer from Cap1that they are now offering BT with no fees. I am not recommending Cap1 over NFCU by any means, but just giving you another option if you are only look to BT with no fees.

I was approved for a NFCU cashRewards visa for $6,500 very recently. I had a USAA CC from 2006 with a -- 90 day late -- on it. Other then that no other baddies. EQ score pulled was a 733. I'm active military don't know if that was part of the consideration or not.

I just checked the status of my credit card app online........$3500.......with 1 unpaid charge off from cap 1 that i also just paid this morning.My eq was 634 when they pulled, went down to 627 because of inquiry but I am on way up to bigger and better things.

Thanks everyone for all the replies. From what i've read, things look a "little" promising but I won't get my hopes up. I applied online today and got the 3-5 days message so we'll see.

I'm trying jenrette, I will l let you all know if i'm approved or not. I'll even be happy if they give me a small limit so that I can prove my credit worthiness over time.

YES, DH has two 30 days, but were one year old, no collections, no bk's....not instant, but was approved for $5k on NavCheck, but I don't know how they do their CC's. He was, however approved for $5k on Visa BEFORE the NavCheck.

I AM SOO EXCITED THIS MORNING!!! I just checked my app status and I was APPROVED!!!! I only got a $1,500 CL but that's ok because I know NFCU is magical with CLI's. Besides, it's enough to BT my Cap1 balance of $775...they rate hiked me from 14.80 to 22.90!!! Bye-Bye Cap1....your're going waaaaaaay in the back of my abandoned cc drawer. I called in to ask for a larger CL but the rep told me cc's are reconsidered after 1yr for CLI's BUT I may call in after 6mos. for consideration....I think I will and thank you very much.

Thanks for posting your experiences, they really helped me remain somewhat calm during the "Review in Process" phase. I applied on the 3/18 and Approved on 3/22...only one business day.

I'm glad the process was smooth for you. I apped last Tuesday, then had to fax in documents and pay stubs Friday. Still waiting.

Thank you! Stay positive...today would be the 4th business day for you since your app, if no response by tomorrow, i'd call. My stated personal income wasn't that high so maybe that has something to do with it. No one would lie about making $47K, so maybe they question high incomes and ask for proof? EQ was at 724. One baddie from 2006 from some CA called AFNI. AAOA is at 4 years, oldest account 16 years. Personal income dropped from 40k to 32k (dang economy), but they called to inquire about household income which is at 88k. My util. is at 23%.
