BofA "product change"

Has anyone ever done this with them? I know its talked about for AMEX and I know Citi will do it. But has anyone done it with BofA and do they pull anything or just change your product over without any qualifying?

We changed hubbys BoA World Points to an Amex they didnt do a hard pull, just a dif acc # but on the same acc so all info stayed, same with my plat, changed to a visa with rewards. Tks Vicki

BOA also offered to change my gold MC to a Worldpoints card as well.

I haven't done it yet, but I might. Not sure I want to rock the $10,000.00 CL boat. I'd probably do it in a heartbeat if it were a smaller account, but they have been very good to me on this card so who knows. The rep that called me suggested a product change so I know it can be done and the reps are aware of it.

I easily changed my Bank of America Platinum card to a World Points card last December. One thing--if you currently have a decent APR on your account, make certain that the product change also has the same, or a more favorable APR. About 3 years ago, I wanted to change my Bank of America card to a different one, and the regular customer service rep was anxious to change it immediately. I told her I wanted to think about it first. Later, I talked to a Bank of America "Retention Department" rep. She discouraged me from changing my card, telling me that if I changed my account to the other card that I was thinking about, my APR would go from 7.9% to something awful, like around 16%. The first rep didn't tell me about that horrendous APR.
