No longer blacklisted with Discover!

Woohoo! I included Discover in Ye Olde BKe back in aught-2 and now, FINALLY, they're sending me preapprovals for Discover More.

Should I go for it? I'm antsy because both of my major bank cards are Chase. Chase has been really decent to me so I'm not TOO worried, but you never know.

tatiana, that's great ! I got pre-approval for Discover More and I got it in over a year a go. I say go for it !!

SUCCESS!!!!!!!

I called the recon line just now to check on my app status, as posters in other threads recommended - and after some questions (including one about the old BK) they approved me! No idea what the limit will be, but that doesn't matter right now. I HAZ DISCOVER CARD AGAIN!!!!!

Oh I just looked at the "check app status" page at Discover's website and found that my limit is $3k. Not bad!

Now I really need to stop posting. Gah, so excited I'm becoming diarrheafingers.

The gal just asked if I could contextualize the BK for her. I told her the truth: I lost my job and thereby my ability to pay bills. I was ~10k in debt, had stretched myself to the limit paying off Citi, VS, Macy's, and Chase, didn't want to incur a crapload of lates, and decided to do what I felt was the responsible thing. It was 8 years ago, and times have changed. She said, okay, I'm approving you.

I'm not sure how long they hold onto records or even worry about old accounts, but I can only guess that they have record of me IIBing them in 02 and decided that they didn't care. That said, WFNN told me they had no record of my paid-in-full account in good standing that is closed but still reporting, so...who knows. Before apping, I checked whogavemecredit.com to see what the likelihood of approval might be for someone with high FICOS, an old BK, and a preapproval; odds looked decent, so I went for it.
