American Express Blue Cash credit card

Here is a quick summary for my credit history

My oldest account is 1 year old with a $1500 CL, HSBC card

Second account is 6 months old with CL 400, Kohls credit card.

pay in full each month, my score is as follows:

TU FICO: 738

EQ FICO: 721

EX "PLUS Score";: 732

I will apply soon to American Express Blue Cash credit card, what are my chances to get approved? should I wait? If I was denied, will I be considered for another AMex card automatically, or I should re-apply again and get another hit in my report? or maybe I should apply from the begining to an easier card.

I would apply for a charge card, if that is approved, go right back in and apply for the blue, will be same inq if on same day. if you are approved for charge but not blue, wait 6 months with charge card history and try again

Thank you so much, it is a great idea, which one of the Amex cards is the charge card you refer to? If my approval to the charge card wasn't instant, will American Express allow me to switch it to the Blue Cash later?

I would apply for the highest level gold card which is $175 a year but free for 1 year, then after 1 year you could product change to zync for $20 a year.

you would not however be able to product change to a credit card from charge card

I applied for that exact Amex blue cash card. I ended up getting declined and decided to apply for the Amex with Bank of America. Luckily they approved me with a start of 2K.

yes charge card is much easier because you have to pay in full and amex can set limits as low as $500 to that charge card

Sorry to ask again but can I apply to the Blue cash card, and if I got denied then I can apply to the Gold card in the same day, and it will be 1 hit to my credit report instead of two?

I hope other members with limited history like me will benefit from this post

In my first post I wrote my credit history, I'm waiting for my Kohls card to report the 0 balance "hopefully tomorrow" then I will apply to the Blue cash card and see what happens, if denied then I will try the Gold card.

Oh my God, I'm so happy, they approved me for the Blue Cash one from the first trial

Not much credit limit $2000 only but it is better than to be denied. they said I will receive card in mail but I didn't get any email confirmation

Do Amex do auto CL increase or I have to call them every 6 months and request it from them?

Update: they pulled from all 3 credit bureaus... not complaining at all...
