How long does it take Amex payments to post to account?

I just scheduled a payment for this Sat the 17Th my statement closing dating is the 18Th Sun so I'm guessing the new statement is not gonna cut until Monday. I'm trying to figure out when will my payment will post to my account an will it post before the new statement cuts. I was able to push $900 threw the card this first month so I'm assuming my hidden credit limit is a $1000 or more.

It will post on the 17th. You should be able to log on Sunday morning (18th), and see the new balance.

Ok thx I know other banks don't operate on the weekends an most transaction don't post until the following Monday if you make a payment on the weekend.

Not Amex. I have paid on Sat. on several occasions and saw the post on Sunday. However, the online banking system may be down until about 6 am for scheduled maintenance.

Amex credits a payment to your account immediately. It may take up to 24 hours for it to show online or over the phone, but you're credited as soon as you initiate the payment.

Just checked online an it's been more then 24 hours balance is still showing. I'm sure it will update in the Morning like most banks do.

Same for me also, made an on-line payment to Amex early Saturday morning and today my balance still shows.

I just checked my account updated also. I made a purchase yesterday at Wal-Mart an i noticed the balance is showing now an my statement closes today. I was trying to get the card to report a 0 balance but i forgot it's not evan reporting on my CR yat so i have no need to worry. How does that affect your utilization when they report a balance on a charge card.

When it updated, what did it show as the post date? The date you created the transaction or the day it appeared?

The day of the transaction itself. Saturday evening posted as 4/17.
