Update on DSNB Accounts

Thought I would share today I checked CCT and went via backdoor to EX - I somehow have three Macy's accounts now - when I only should have the store card and the "special event", but now on EX (which has mostly been pretty accurate, as far as the big three go), I have another TL that states I opened it up in May. I didn't open up another account. I only have two, but now there are three. It's like magic!! I wonder if I should dispute with EX about that third account, since I have no idea why I would have three accounts, Who knows? Could be a NBD thing.

Now, I checked TC today...and Bloomies TL, the highest credit amount (ie money I spent) was removed... the CL still doesn't show.

Something must be wrong with the tape being sent to the three CRAs. Now, we have TLs being deleted, and phantom ones appearing on reports. Hmmm...lets see if others start reporting the same things.

I don't know if this is related or not, but I also have 3 Macys accounts when I should only have two. Almost 2 yrs ago, I purchased a mattress via the Special Event. The Spec Evt TL was new and reported and of course I already had the store revolving. After a month, a 3rd reported with $0 balance and $0 limit. I called them after a few months of monthly reporting and they said that the 3rd account was for special purchases not subject to the Spec. Event promotions. They said that if I opted to ever use it they would charge it to that account and then report the CL. Macys offered to delete it and admitted it shouldn't have reported, but looking long-term I figured it wouldn't hurt for it to stay.

Illecs, good to know. That is probably what happend in my case. I just bought a bed from Macy's but I ordered it in Feb, it didn't get delivered until last week of April. Then EX reported, last week of April the amount of that purchase, but now, first week of May, another TL with zero/zero was added. Sounds like the same! Thanks for sharing - you are always so very helpful.

DI, yes, I happen to agree. Back in my day when my credit was to be envied, I would not even ** think ** about applying for store cards, didn't need to - I had all the best offers, interest rates at zero, and credit limits that far exceeded my annual salary. .But now, I'm still rebuilding and they can serve a decent purpose for that reason. If one can PIF relatively fast, then interest rates are not to be considered heavily....
