How to get a full 1% cashback with Discover More?

Does anyone know how much you need to charge to your Discover card in order to a full 1% cashback? I think it was 2,800 from year to date, but not sure.

It's $3,000 based on puchases made during your Anniversary year.

Your “Anniversary Year” consists of 12 consecutive billing periods beginning with the month in which your Card was issued to you (your “Anniversary Month”). It resets on the day after the last day of the billing period ending during your Anniversary Month. Your Anniversary Month can be found on your monthly statement.

And I'm not sure that $3k includes some purchases...such as purchases at WalMart.

You do have to read the small print. That's why I don't use my Discover much anymore.

I only use mine for some of the 5% categories, but their caps are so low it's hardly worth it.

Ditto on LynetteM .

This first Q was rather good ($800 cap on vacation-related stuff). But Q2 turned out to be quite meh for me. Q2 Last month, there's a bonus category on restaurants but it is capped to $200 ($10 cash-back). In any event, shop-discover is better than most other CC malls but you reaaaaally have to read the small print for you not to get dissappointed. I was when I saw the no-iPads 5% Cash-back at Apple Store thru Discover.

Anyhow, answering the question. After $3000 during your year, you get the full 1% cash back starting on your 3001st spent dollar. However, warehouse and discount stores do NOT count in this. Think outlets and costco-ish stores.

Just to add to the exclusions, any dollar amounts covered by the 5% bonus do not count towards that $3,000 annual spend, either.

This is why I ONLY use it for the 5% and ShopDiscover, both of which still make it very worthwhile for me.

Well, are you really trying to get 1% cash back? Other members already gave you an answer ...

Me? I only use mine on 5% Bonus Categories where I shop. Any other time ... I use my other ccs because I can get 1% is sure with them.
