About a dozen inquiries.

2 credit card charge offs both about 4 years old

and 1 loan with late pays also 4 years old.

Was approved through Firestone for their card with a $1040 limit. Highest credit card limit yet and I had never been there but the service was great and since we bought two sets they hooked us up with a good deal as well. I was happy all around and would recommend this as an option. Even if you just need brakes, tires, or an oil change. Anything to show activity. A couple of oil changes a year would keep the card active for you. If you dont have a firestone near you the Kays and Jareds were easy to get with high limits as well.

Hello,

I shop at Lowes, Home Depot, Sams Club, Wal-mart, Macys, Target. I was thinking about getting one store card to help with the credit mix and to improve my score. I already have one visa since March and thinking to apply to one of the following in the summer! Which one is the easiest to get approve for? I heard Macys was easy but with a low limit. I mainly want Lowes or Sams Club (Walmart)...Please help me out!!!!!!

If you want Lowes or Sams club (walmart) your best bet is to app in person at the store. Both cards are issued by GEMB so requirements are probably similar. I would pick the one you shop at most. Good luck.

If you're out to build your credit, do NOT get a store card. I have one through GEMB (Banana Republic), which is probably the best issuer of store cards to get. Nonetheless, store cards can help in the long run, but they hurt your credit by 5-20 points when opened. Unless you shop heavily at a particular store, I would avoid these.

FICO gods actually don't like to see this type of credit. Definitely not more than one or two. You should wait and focus on increasing the CLI of the cad you have.

Although major credit cards are preferable to store cards, they still had positive history and are good for building. I suggest you apply at the stores you frequent the most.
