Hooters... DECLINED

So pulled my scores today 623, Bankruptcy is finally done and all accounts are finally reported correctly and have a new car loan in good standing for 3 months.... Thought it was finally time to try them again... instant no.

What happened to the days of hooters approving 3k lines with people in the upper 500's! UGH

Anyone else pull TU that might grant with this score?

yes yes you are all totally right.... inq are a mess right now... I bought a new USED car and I moved across country and set up all util, cable, apt and opened new bank accounts.

I got declined by Hooters/Merrick Bank last November with a TransUnion score of 667. I had 5 inquiries including the one from Hooters and apparently that was too many. I was a little surprised at the time because I saw a lot of people with lower scores getting approved so I thought I had a good shot. I've had to learn hard way via excessive inquiries on my Equifax and Experian reports that patience is truly a virtue in the Fico game. So, in the meantime while waiting for the inquiries as well as the baddies to age and fall off I've taken up farming. Been focusing on gardening the cards I do have so I can get to the point of pulling out the ole weed wacker and wack the hell out of First Premier Bank with it and boot them from my life.

I applied and received 7-10 message , It took about 3 weeks to get the card with $1000.00 no annual @16.45 apr..

I finally sent off the letter to get the reasons for my decline and just got the letter today.

Declined because my "credit shows I have a mortgage that was open in 2005,2006, or 2007"

Others have posted the same that they were denied due to a mortgage. IMO, it is for the best. I may be wrong, but I think the limits are terrible anyway.

It was for the best anyway. I got the card 7 months ago and it sits in the sock draw because of all the wierd looks I got using it. It only comes out when I go to hooters. Which isnt that often.

That is correct! I end up going once every couple months with some guys from work. The grilled cheese and wings are amazing!

Were u first trying to use it at other places because it is an mc right? That would be funny becuase then it would be kinda out of it's element.

Yes. When I got it I figured id give it a go since they gave me a lower apr than my other highest card. But after several uses and a strange to odd look everytime I gave up. I never had a positive experience handing over the card even at hooters you get a strange look. I end up using zync 90 percent of the time since most people give a positive response. May seem odd but I dont like being looked at wierd by a complete stranger.

I've never been to Hooters but I LOVE that card. I want one. They can look at me funny all they want when I use it. I'm a 32 year old female. LOL

I'll have to look into it down the road when I am credit shopping again. Taking a time out for now to get myself to the next credit tier.
