Amex has Arrived

Arrived in mail today, Delta Skymiles Gold. $3400 CL 17.74 APR, very happy camper. Will not ask for product change or CLI for at least 8 months. I dont want to push it. Does anyone know what day they report to CB so I can know when is best time to pay my bill

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! No fair! hahahah. When did you apply for yours? I applied for mine on the 7th and got approved on the 8th? The suspense is killin' me softly.......hhahaha. Congrats!

I would also like to know when you applied for this, I was approved on the 9th. I just got a letter yesterday from AMEX with my pin # though, not really helpful at this point.

I got approved on the 8th also, got my pin on the 15th. Hoping to see the card soon! Maybe today?!?! Waiting for the mailman.....................

My understanding is that Amex takes a while (several months) to start reporting. Once they do, they report on or right after your statement date, BUT they report the previous month's balance. This will make things exciting for working your util, unless you just always keep it reporting 10%. If your statement does have have a higher balance, it won't show up on your reports until the next month, and then any PIF'ing won't report until the month after that.

So just realize that you can't quickly turn around high util on an Amex. Here's a thread:

I applied for Amex on Oct. 29 (Mon.) and was told I should receive it in the mail by Nov. 12. At the time I was thinking that there was no way it would take the full 2 weeks. I began stalking my mailbox a few days later, but the card did not arrive until Nov. 10 (Sat.), several days after I received my PIN. When I got the card, I called to make the "product change" and was told that I would receive my new card within 30 days. I guess the moral of the story is patience is a virtue when waiting for an Amex product to arrive. I know it sounds silly but the excitement and validation that I felt when I saw that Delta Skymiles card with my name on it was definitely worth the wait.

Yeah this suspense is killing me. They said I should see my card in 7-10 days and I was approved on the 12th. I want my card!!

I have always heard that most credit cards companies, and the IRS, attempts to get your card (or tax refund check) in the Saturday mail...more likely you will be home and it can't be stolen. Don't know how true ???

I do want to be there best customer. I am almost scared to use it! I am going to probably buy some small stuff and PIF for the first couple months. I want to be with them for a long time......

That's the GOOD way to let them make money off of you--not with interest charges and late fees, but by using the card over and over, so that they get the transaction fees. They love that! I hope I'll be joining the rest of the Amex gang next March or so. That's when it falls on my Plan, anyway.
