Calling Chase Recon more than once?

I am a first time poster so please be kind to this newbie - I tried to search but didn't find any relevant post to my question.

Yesterday around 5PM pacfiic time, I applied for Chase Mileage plus select visa on thatsaplus.com (Not chase.com site but co-owned by UA/Chase)

Wasn't instantly approved, said they will send me a letter in 2-3 weeks. About 30 minutes later, I called the backdoor recon number and the lady I talked to said

I was already approved with 5,000 CL. But ever since, I called the other automated status checking number and I am kind of worried if I am actually approved. Now I know it's been actually less than 24 hours - but i guess I am just being worried a bit. Can I call the recon number again to check - would they possibly turn it down, or give me lower CL? or once one agent said approved with certain amount that's pretty much set? Any comment would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I know how anxious you can get in situations like these, but I think you can safely relax. If the backdoor # said you were approved, chances are you really are approved. Wait a few days and call the normal Chase hotline and they should be able to give you some details which will indicate your card is on the way.

Back when I went on my mini-app-spree, it took forever to find out if I had been approved by Chase, and if so, for how much. At various times I was told that I was approved, that I was pending, and that they had no record of my application. It finally turned up in the mail 2 weeks later.

That was 2 years ago, and it doesn't sound like they've gotten any better.

I'd call back today or wait until after the holiday weekend to check again. Chase is typically sloooowww to manually approve apps. But it sounds like you're ok with the card and they most likely gave you the Signature Visa. That card has a 5k minimum credit line.
