MACY'S card CL DOWN?!!!!

well, i haven't gone to macys in like a month or two at the VERY MOST.called to check if a payment had gone through and my limit went from 2000 to 1500 out of no where , WTF?

anyone with this crap going on on their account?

just confirmed that my $2000 CL remained the same. I shopped with my macy card once a year during christmas time.

Anything going on with any of your other accounts on your credit reports? Increased balances, etc.

Same thing happened to me it seems like every time I make a payment they lower my limit to the balance due plus one dollar. I haven't called them yet about it.

Yes, Macy's have been chasing my balance for the last year. Whenever I make the payment for the month the CL goes down to reflect the balance owed plus give or take $15. I haven't called them yet either but I think it's time. I haven't used the card since they started this mess. I look at it as less debt to worry about. I can use my other major cards in the store if I need to make a purchase.

Have you tired calling them and ask them to restore the CL? Macy's store card does not report the limit to CR technically it does not matter for your credit scores. If you do want to buy some thing ask them for CLI and I am very sure they will accommodate your request.

There was a month and a half time when I carried a zero balance with Macys, but I still have the same limit...like it really matters. :-)

They haven't lowered mine. But if they did, I don't think I'll lose any sleep over it since they don't report cl's anymore.

My 10k CL has not been lowered. I am kind of shocked because it has not been used in some time.

So far my Store card is still intact $10,700. however my Visa they CLD $100 to $11900. I owe a lot of money on the visa though so not sure that, that will be the last I see of them when I start making big payments in another couple months

So, i called Macy's they told me the reason they dropped it is because of outside credit history, well, my scores never changed from last month to this month, so i dont know whats going on, the thing is i told het i have forgotten to pay them, i paid them 4 days after due date, i really forgot, she told me it wasn't for sure,but that could be a reason as well, also i told het a thought it was because i havent used the card in the last month, she says it's possible too, but it only happens if you dont use your card fro over 6 months. So i asked about my request to have the visa logo on my card, she says she's seen it there but she cant tell why its taking so long for them to give me a decision (over a month) then she told me she'd put on the request again for the AMEX and not the visa since i told her i know they were exchanging and all, also asked if that'd generate a hard pull on my CR she says not at all.

So thats that people lets see what happens.

I think she is wrong, It is hard pull to upgrade to the visa or now amex.

The only thing I think you can get from Macys now without a credit pull is furniture line and they tell you they might have to pull.
