Thought I would give an update on my conversation with Capital One. First off, i used a backdoor number from these forums which still put me clear in India on my call and the communication gap was evident with each person I spoke with. 800-625-7866

So....

For my first card opened in February - I received a $250 "credit Steps" increase 4 months later - $500 to $750. Two different people I talked to stated that there is only one "step" increase in the program. After that I can ask for a increase every 6 months. I asked for one now after ensuring it would only be a soft inquiry and the response I received after she submitted the request was "this account is not authorized for a increase at this time" I run about $1200 a month through this card and have to pay off weekly to keep below limit

I just received a 2nd cap one card today with a $750 limit - while I had the "account specialist" on the phone I asked for a initial limit increase. She went on to tell me that this account was also in the credit steps program and that I would get a One time increase to $1000 after 5 billing statements if i met all the qualifications.

So in short, "credit steps" is really one credit "step", after that your at the whim of periodic account reviews. The win in all of this is originally on the second card I was supposed to have 0% until June 2011, the supervisor said it was until september 2011. I pay off monthly so it matters little.

Anyone have a backdoor number that has an american on the other end that they have had any success with?

Anyone ever used PFB or a GW letter for a CLI?
