i was at store so i apply for credit card and lady told me i was denied so i call the 1800 number and lady told me was because there was fraud alert my report so she ask few question that i was approved

agree, i just got my US Green card, 4 years ago i still live in my country , Indonesia, I believe USA much more rich than Indonesia, but just want to compare, that no Bank in Indonesia (including HSBC Indonesia) give credit card limit under 1000. I cant imagine what my friend gonna say if they know some US Bank issue a credit card with 100,300,500 limit. My first credit card with Standard Chartered Bank Indonesia, 2000 limit.

Target is known for giving out small initial limits. My card was approved with a CL of: $200 and still is. I shop at Target a few times per week and always PIF each month. I'm waiting patiently for an increase.

I'm doing the unthinkable right now with my 4 target cards. They are all maxed out and I'm revolving the balance for a couple months, they will be paid in full next month which will give me 3 months of revolved at max before paying. I really could never figure out how they decide who gets there blanket CLI (which if I'm not mistaken has only happened 2 in the last 2 years, I got the last one on one of my newer accounts up to $1000 but this round of increases that many were getting none of my accounts got moved.

My Target store account limit has been 200.00 for a few years also. About a month ago, there was a thread about Target giving CLI's. Several people had received them. I just decided to check my limit online. They raised it to a 1000.00, i could not believe it. I thought it would stay at 200.00 forever. They sent me a letter about the increase a couple weeks later. I had read somewhere that they were going to discontinue the Target Visa card. Don't know how true that is. They are still offering it on their website.

it's totally random. i was one of those people who sat at $200 forever & then one day got the increase to $1000. there's no way to tell!

I'm going on 3 yrs at $200. DW got a CLI her first month from $200 to $500, but that was 3 yrs ago as well with no changes since.

I started with $200 CL when I opened them years ago (probably 2002-2003) then sometime in 2008 - they upgraded me to Visa and increase my CL to $1k then 6 months they auto increase me to $5k then another 6 months I got an increase to $7k. I was thinking they will give another increase but it did not happened; I'm happy with my CL I use the card at least once a month.
