Discover Direct Rewards Cardholders (HSBC)<- Update

Did you ever receive a cli from them? I am still stuck at 300. It has been a year with the 59 annual fee. I think its time to close this account.

I would call them and tell them you like to close the account, if its paid off, that way maybe they will waive the anual fee, it doesnt hurt to try

I called to close this account today. I had been billed the annual fee on Oct 1. I asked if my account was eligible for a cli the rep stated that the company was not issuing cli at this time. I politely stated that I would like to close the account and I do not want to be charged the annual fee. The rep gave me the run around so I asked to be transferred to his supervisor I explained the problem to her, she of course gave her scripted answers then she got to my favorite part. Since they would like to keep my business she said we will waive the annual fee. So I have a 300 without a 59 annual fee for one more year.

Today was my first time trying this... I think I will take a look in my wallet and see what else I can accomplish today!!!

Maybe I should do that. Both DW and I have separate accounts and are both stymied at $300, since early 2008.
