The results of my FR are in!

I just had the CSR call me back and yeah have lifted the suspention and apoligized for the inconvience. They also set a 6k spending limit which I dont really care about since I never plan on going that high. I feel vindicated and a little nuts about caring about this so much. Thanks for everyones help and support on the boards. I try to talk to my friends about my credit hobby and they think im nuts.

It does feel like a weight has been lifted. Now im not in fear of being FR'd. And on a side note I was so excited about that call I called applied bank just now and fired them since they just tried to charge me a 50 dollar annual fee on a 500 dollar secured card that I been holding onto for sentinmental reasons. So now at least I should get the 500 back too.

Awesome news, congrats! I know what you mean, they F/R and released me w/o AA too a couple of years ago.

was rather surprised at how much I let it affect me... hopefully lesson learned--at this point like to imagine there's less of an overdeveloped sense of urgency to remain an active card holder, having made it through the hoop once before and also finally realizing any thing they offer that I care about can be found elswhere.

Unfortunately it is not at all unusual to have multiple FR, though I trust OP won't, and so far I've got away wth just the one in '07 myself.

I really hope it never happens again! I cant see it happening anytime in the near future. I mean they would just see the same stuff I just sent! So im feeling im good for at least 2 more years unless maybe I go on a binge and use the card to go to the dollar store and liquor store everyday.

Good for you! I remember seeing your thread about whether or not you should pay rent with the AMEX since it was an option. I'm glad it worked out!

Eh, I resolved myself to the fact that it can happen at any time and try to remain prepared (don't carry debt, have back up cc) rather than assuming it won't happen again.

They were pulling multiple F/R on people primarily because they lived in the wrong zip code at one point--it's not all under our control.

Try paying the rent again next month on your amex card and see if they do FR again. It would be interesting to know what happens if you were to pay the rent again with your Amex card.

for over a year I put over 20k through an optima card at a bar... we won't discuss how I did this at a bar, but shows you somethings don't matter to amex after all

I am going to do it again. I figure how can they FR me again? They have all my info there not going to get any new info. What would they want? A blood sample and my diet info? Honestly I like amex but if I cant use the card to get rewards whats the point? And they set a hard limit of 6k so I would assume they would be ok with whatever I charged up to that amount with I guess exceptions like legal fees or cash advances at casinos or something.

really when I read about the FR, knock on wood I have no idea how our accounts have not been FR yet. I carry balances next to CL, have seen CLD on all 4 credit cards, have had hard limits set on the 2 charge cards, have returned payments, don't even think 2 about charging at bars, paying my car loan, whatever it may be.

IMO, we shouldn't have to caution what we charge, whether it be rent or a night at the strip club

Congrats on getting rid of Applied Bank. They are the worst. Used to be Cross

Country when I was with them.

When I got my CL up over 1000CL they wanted me to pay $7 monthly

fee.

I have never dared to try for AMEX.

Im very happy about getting rid of them. I hadnt used the card in months. I also have a orchard from when I started to build that I dont use but they always waive the fee for me and I actually have a 9.99 credit with it so its staying. I dont think amex is as tough to get into as they use to. I got approve with lower ex scores.
