I currently have two FP Bank cards, one gold and one platinum. My total credit limit for the two is around 600 bucks and I want to increase the CL on one or both. I called them and they said they would have to pull my credit to check for this. Is it possible to get a CLI through First Premier with a soft pull? Does a back door number work for this and if so, does anyone have one?

THANK YOU!!!!

They auto CLI me i think two months ago. I was stuck at 250 for about a year, now its 450. I think that might be the only way you will get a soft pull is if they take it upon themselves to CLI you

It offers VERY, VERY limited growth at a very heavy price. My credit line went from $250 to $350 and it cost me $25 and a hard pull. I imagine if I ever get the credit limit up to $1000 it's going to cost me 7 hard pulls and $175 in fees.

It costs "up to" 50% of the increase. The maximum increase is $125 once a year.

So if you haven't had an increase and you have had the card for 2 years $250 would be possible but that's the only way!

By that time you have paid them more than $125 in yearly fees + the cost of the increase

When I had them they never hard pulled for an increase, but they will refuse to give you the $125 increase if you have had an increase in the last year, or your account is less than 6 months old.

Thanks for the replies as always. For some reason, I have a totally different experience with First Premier. I don't have the 50% CLI fee, I only have to pay $50 if approved. Also, for example, so many people talk about these high interest rates, I simply have a 9% APR. Maybe I'm super lucky?!?!

It's just the money you pay them for the fees, etc...you could save that same money or add (as some creditors do) on a rolling credit line to increase the limit and see the same (if not better) results....and we would probably be more diligent because we know we are playing with our own cash that we would want back when it (a secured agreement) is said and done.
