Frustrated with BBRZ Mastercard!!!

I have had my Best Buy Rewardzone Mastered since March '08 with a $59 annual fee 21.74APR . I just went to the BBRZ mastercard preapproval site and was preapproved for the same card but with NO annual fee! I called the backdoor number and they said they are not able to adjust the terms of my current card and in order to have no annual fee I would have to complete the application for the new card... should I do that and cancel my current card that I have had excellent history with since 2008.. it is only a $500 limit.. started at $300.

I am not complaining about the credit limit. I am complaining about the annual fee. Now that I can get the same card with no annual fee, would it hurt me to do so and cancel my other card?

Be forewarned that most people get $100 limits from the BBY RZMC pre-selector site. Just fyi.

I have been stuck at $500 CL since 2007, with the annual fee. I called for a CLI recently and got "call at the end of the year" for a CLI, but i was stuck with the annual fee. I figure for 16 cents a day, ill keep the almost 4 year perfect history

Did you just call hsbk recently about a cli, just curious if this bank is now stating at the end of the year for any cli's???

Just as an FYI . They will credit the AF if you twist thier arm a tad bit. I have a gold and a plat version of this card. My gold has the AF and is 750 CL a couple months ago after playing with the pre approval website for months . It came up offering the plat version. So i applied and was approved.(thinking come this month i would just cancel the gold) So i called them up to cancel the card and they noticed that i put anywhere between 1.7k to 2k through the card every month and instead offered to credit the AF back to the account. So i now still have both cards. . we cashed in $200 in points this week and started early christmas shopping.

Thanks for the information, I will try myself calling in December and see whats happens, every other hsbk card has been getting some sort of cli except for this one.

I just called they told me there not yet giving increases but they would note my account that I would like one....At lesast tehre not doing pay for increases
