Amex payment question

How much more can you pay on your bill than what's currently seen as your balance? I mean, say I know I just charged $1000 but my balance right now states only $56. Is there a maximum I can pay or do I have to wait for it to show? (Cap One allows you to pay balance + no more than 10%)

When the $1000 post to you account, then you can pay it. I try to pay more than the balance but it wouldn't let me. Other way is to push it through from your bank.

I push payments through from my bank in a situation like that.

I dont like how AMEX kind of tells you when you can pay. So I just use CapOne Bank online bill pay to push my payments to AMEX for whenever, and however much I want
