oh Chase I'm going to burn your card!

So last month I started really weighing my rewards, I have been putting everything on Zync except a very few places that don't take Amex and then it went on Toyota... Then I remembered I had a Chase Freedom Plus that gave me 3% on the top 6 categories I spent in.

I called Chase 3 different times so that I would get 3 different reps to confirm my Freedom Plus had not been downgraded to the new Freedom card that has rotating categories.... They all confirmed still the same program... so I paid the card off and started putting every $1 spent onto it.... today I get the statement and...

it's the 6 categories of the month not the top 6 I spent in which made a difference of over $30!!

I called and he says I will have to have this reviewed I still show you on the old program... so charging is freezed on them until they confirm what rewards I'm actually getting.

Chase sucks (LOL) and annoying... Their reps are not relly well train. Everytime I go to a branch, they try to talk me to sign up for new cards & saving accounts...

Last time I sat down to tell the account specialist and her boss that your bank sucks big time. haha "My CC CL is stuck as 2,3k and yo denied me when I applied for a car loan. I may change the directly deposit & close this checking anytime." They were speechless.

Creditaddict- I'm sorry to hear this. Hoping they clear this up and fast!

I think I'm one of the few here that actually loves Chase. I have a checking account with them and an AU on my husbands Sapphire card. Never had any issues with the CC and they've always been great with me when it came to my bank account changes. I'm surprised at all the issues people are encountering with them.

Chase is on my bad side too. They have always been stingy with cli, only got one since I opened the account a couple years ago. The recently increased my APR to 25% so I BT and closed the card. I too am seriously thinking about closing the checking account as well. I have always done my bill pay and direct deposit with Chase because it's soo easy but I may start to use NFCU or BOA.

Chase is not a good bank. There are better banks with better service.

That's a broad statement.

Maybe you can start a thread and share the problems you've had with Chase.. I'd also like to hear which banks you think are better and why.

Personally, I can't stand HSBC. I've had nothing but problems with them since opening an account 6 years ago. But I know some people like them.

i love chase! they just put one down the street from me, like ONE minute away. we have gotten to know a lot of the employees at our branches.

I don't like the fact that I have another inquiry on my report just to request a CLI... but they gave me a decent rate of 10.24% when my credit score was in the low 600s

It happened to me also. The specialist told me that I have pre-approval for a new cc, and app for it. Then close the my Freedom World MC because it is highest APR of 15.24% compare to other two, and said that I am not using this card often. And also he said to close the former Wa-Mu Platinum VISA because it does not have any rewards and I am not using this card often. I told him "NO THANK YOU" The other thing he told me is about new monthly service fee on my checking & saving acct. I must maintain the minimum of $300 or $25/mo auto transfer from checking to saving acct. He try to set up that $25/mo auto transfer right away. Of cause I told him "NO not now". I was very disappointed with this service, and was thinking to close the banking accts. But changed my mind, because of the benefit of additional rewards on my Freedom VISA & MC.

Same here, they told me they will start charging fees on my ex-Wamu accounts too. I said sure, I'll close the account right after I get that letter in the mail.

WaMu was awesome. No fee of any kind, free money oder, free cashier check/money order, 5% online saving account. All gone after Chase took over.

I read over at fatwallet that chase is going to start charging across the board for their checking accounts, even those that got grandfathered in by fed of next year. If that ends up being the case I'll just close my checking.

In my small/medium size town, my local Chase sucks (I bank with them sadly). The reps are all very judgmental and will not help you, I have to drive toward Orlando for good live service (I find there telephone service to not be so great). I am highly considering a Credit Union, more so a decently large one in Downtown Orlando. But I have not looked yet, was going to wait till I move back down there.

I would be with Wachovia, now Wells Fargo in Orlando.

I bank with both Chase, and Wells fargo... the thing is Chase bill pay is fantastic!

I kind of have accounts everywhere though... BBT, Wells Fargo, Chase, L&N FCU, Navy, USAA, USFedCU... hmm think that's all of them! oh wait Alliant

I thought Wachovia is still Wachovia? Last I checked that big building outside the Condo I rented said Wachovia lol.

oh my bad, I thought they merged and changed the names.... When I opened my Wells Fargo here in CA, it's backdated to my Wachovia account 6 years ago

They haven't change a lot of Wachovia branches and Wachovia customers still can use Wachovia website. In the south Wachovia has better reputation than WF.

I've had a lot of business coming to my bank from the Chase across the street lately. Varying complaints, but lots of unhappy, former WaMu customers. Not complaining, since it's helping my branch, thus my employment, out, lol.

Personally, I've never had any issues with my Chase credit card, but it is by far from my preferred card. Citicorp, U.S. Bank, NavyFed, and AmEx hold the top spots.

I don't have a problem with my card (Just the first time they did not send it, my local branch was of little help. But Orlando jumped right on it) or the actual service they provide for me. I don't see any or much fees at all. But the savings do suck for me, something like 0.01%... I don't even bother keeping money in it...
