opinions on best card that will grow with time

Hello to all. First time posting but been reading the boards for a while. Coming off a discharged bk 7 on Oct 09. Current scores EQ 636 TU 653. Currently have bb rewards mc. $500, first premier $700 local CU $500. Avg use on cards 20%..two of them with$ 0 bal. Looking to get a final 4th card that hopefully pulls TU that can grow with me with time and recv CL throughout ...I've been considering GE walmart, hooters, ...Thx for any suggestions.

Barclays for sure would be my first choice... they are great on recon and granting cli if initial cl not good enough.

Barclays?..wow didn't think they were easy to get approved with. Do u knw which of their cards is the easiest to get? Thx

The Apple Visa seems to be but also lowest limits... but pretty much any of them except Ameriprise (that is underwritten by Ameriprise, not Barclay)

They are, I originally got denied online and called the backdoor number and was approved for $1k. Other than my CU Visa this is my second largest cl. My bankruptcy is about 8.5years old, and when I called for a reconsideration they didn't even ask me about that, instead about the high limits I was carrying on two of my other cards.

I applied for the Itunes Visa, it gives you rewards from itunes. With my Iphone and Ipad it is well worth it for me.

I applied for a Juniper Emigrant Direct card in Feb. '09 and was denied for my '04 BK7.

No go on the recon, either.

you needed to school that underwriter what bank they work for, BK's are okay! lol

anyway, if your iffy I would just apply for itunes, that seems to be the easiest, but 670 score is not close to what I would call iffy for barclays

When I apped for the iTunes visa and called for recon the guy on the phone asked to make sure I wanted the itunes visa and not the financing one because they were different and completely different apps. I like the itunes visa though. Its nice looking. Havent used it yet though. Ill break it in soon.

Wonder which of the two is easier to get approved. Per finance globe looks like the itunes, im just not sure how much it can grow

Finally pulled the trigger n was denied. Called for recon n was still denied even after going my app.was told that since bk was discharged 14 mod ago they need to see more usage on my cards and ability to charge really high amts n payoff..wth? I always kept my usage to 30% or less and payed off or carried a very small bal. Was told to recon in 90 days after report shows more usage on current cards

I suggest you look at Capital One secured card (or other secured cards). If you drop the First Premiere and apply those fees to the security deposit, it will grow over time.

No bk was due to older debt and a 2nd mortgage that I was being sued for from a foreclosed mortgage..mortgage was under wifey but I was being held responsible as well bcz we got married before it foreclosed. I guess ill start paying all my bills with the credit cards so more utilization shows and just pay off before bill cuts

I can tell you from experience if you don't have at least one card that is 2+ years old wait... all you will do is rack up inquiries or possibly get another low limit rebuilder

If I was you I would

1. Make sure utilization is no more than 10%

2. Make sure you have at least one card with 2 yrs of reporting (no lates)

3. Make very little inquiries, if possible none at all

4. Don't apply for subprime (they never grow with you)
