I just receive the bestbuy credit card yesterday in the store. I only got it for the 0 percent interest for 12 mths. I didn't read the interest rate part of the application but its not very good. 25%. I wont be using this card after the promotional period. Do anyone know will they upgrade to the mastercard? How long? And how much is the interest rate on the mastercard? And what scores qualify for mastercard?

The mastercard is significantly easier to get than the regular store card. Be very happy you got approved for the store card, as it is difficult to get. That rate is high though.

But I don't have any info about switching to the mastercard.

Congrats on the card though!!

I think the BB MC is the easier card to get. They don't upgrade the store card to the MC but if for some reason you wanted the MC its a easy approval.

I agree that the MC is quite a bit easier to get, though the platinum no annual fee version of the MC does at least require a pretty good credit record. The mastercard is far easier to accrue rewards on, but the store card is far better for 0% financing offers in store...I suppose you could apply for both and use accordingly.

I'll also throw in as a store cardholder, that you'll get offers via e-mail from time to time to get the MC. I'm opted-out, but got an e-mail saying I was approved for the MC if I wanted it. DW has it and I don't want it.

ON my receipt it says the best buy reward zone credit card. So is this the store card or the mastercard?. It doesnt say anything on my application saying mastercard. So i just assume it was the store card. My credit limit was 2200. Not much but its my third highest credit limit. My utilization is pretty high.

The Best Buy RewardZone Credit Card is different from the Best Buy RewardZone MasterCard, yes. The RewardZone Credit Card is the private label card of Best Buy, and it has the RewardZone program benefits built in (2% back on BBY purchases, 4% if you select Standard Revolve). The Best Buy RewardZone MasterCard is 4% back at BBY, 2% on gas and groceries, and 1% everywhere else.

I have the BB store card issued by HSBC. The store card is wayyyy better than all their other cards. It offers 6 Months 0% on any purchase $149 & up, 0% for 12 months on any purchase over $299, and 0% for 18 months on any purchase over $429. Also, HSBC CL on the most part is higher than the BB MC. A lot of people complained that they can't get an increase on their MC. That's not a problem with the BB store card, they will give increase periodically.

I have the mastercard. I really like it, but there are not offering cli anytime soon. I get a lot of certificates using the mc though. Just got call of duty black ops for free with the bonus bucks.

I got approved for $6K BB RZMC with no annual fee thru pre-approval link last December and the interest rate is 17.99%. I didn't get 0% interest for 12 months. They pulled EQ. and EQ score was 778. I also have BB Card and I got it five years ago. I don't think you can upgrade BB Card to Mastercard.

Ron.
