I did three BT's last week on 12/7, Pottery Barn received, processed and credited my payment by 12/14, The Room Place on 12/15, while my NFCU payment was received and processed by 12/9, so yes the payments are sent via snail mail. I do believe NFCU arrived so quickly because their mailing address is in Virginia and PSECU's is Pennsylvania. I remember checking one of those accounts payment history and found that all my other payments were ACH and this BT payment wasn't. If your due date is coming soon, i'd recommend sending at least the minimum payment electronically so that your payment won't be late and then do the BT's separately.

PSECU BT timeframe?

Hi everyone,

Hoping to get someone who has processed a balance transfer through PSECU to their Visa/PSL to fill me in on whether it was a quick electronic/ACH transfer (2-3 days) or if they are old-school and send paper checks?

I have some balances I am looking to transfer but it's such a big "game" with so many moves, I have to be confident in transit and posting times...

I hope they are like Crap1 and other larger banks where they do an ACH for major banks, and only resort to paper checks for smaller CU's or minor banks.

I am looking to transfer from Crap1, HSBC, Juniper/Barclays, possibly BoA, Navy, PenFed, Discover, Citi, Alliant (ugh, threw up in my mouth a little once I started typing out how many balances I have!).

Any personal experience (please, only with PSECU) would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't know exactly for PSECU but very few banks still send checks unless the bank your paying doesn't do electronic... but I would call up PSECU real quick and ask them.

I'm personally still going through the process of getting my account opened so have not talked with them much yet

You're Welcome! I too thought it would be sent electronically but wasn't and so both my PB and RoomPlace cards were late but they didn't charge a late fee, I guess because it was PIF, plus the date on the check was dated 12/7. To be sure I called PB Customer Service and he told me not to worry about, that they would reverse the late fee if I were to be charged.
