CLI XMAS in July from Macys

About a year ago, I stopped using my Macys store card because of the low CL and when I used it to buy a piece of luggage, I received a SW alert my FICO went down 9 points because I used a 3 month old account. Strange but true but was probably utilization related - $150 piece of luggage versus a CL of $400..

Went shopping at Macys yesterday to use a discount coupon they sent me on some Xmas stuff and spent $116. I called the Credit Card Dept after my purchase from the parking lot to make sure I know when the statement will cut so I don't get another SW alert on a "dormant account" and I learned Macys increased my CL from $400 to $2k last July !

I received an unsolicited Xmas present in July and didn't even realize it!

Congratulations on the CLI. I asked for one yesterday just for the fun of it and went from 10k -10.5K. Also this was after making my first ever late payment. Card was due on the 10th and I Forgot all about it till the 13th.
