Made My Biggest Charge Ever At Tiffanys!

So went shopping today with the DW and "We" decided to upgrade her engagement ring. They offer interest free financing for 12 months and I have a definite problem with applying so I went for it. I actually didnt really need it I more wanted to get a Tiffany charge card. So after going through the whole app quite a big process they asked for bank accounts and account numbers I was approved for 1k Whats the point for 1k at tiffanys? I have way to many new accounts and inq's so im actually suprised they approved me. They pulled EQ I checked creditsecure when I got home. So I put 1k on the tiffanys charge and 4800 on my Amex Zync. It went through I was actually a little worried it wouldnt but I did just pif before the statement cut a few days ago for almost 2k. My EQ score is 654 right now if anyone wants to try for one. Oh and my wife is DONE for christmas and im pretty sure valentines day too.

Last time I did this my DW was so mad I didn't stop hearing about it for almost a year. Since she is a CPA now she pays attention to every nickel. Sometimes I wish she would just watch the pennies!

Wow, that is a serious charge. I hope you'll have it paid off before the statement cuts. I won't show this thread to my wife so that she won't get the wrong idea.

Luckily the statement cuts the 2nd each month so im going to split it up into 4 payments over the next month to make it not seem like the huge charge it really is. She really wanted to upgrade for a while so I really couldnt say no and she really fell in love with the new one when she saw it. The reason im a little upset about it is I already bought her a expensive diamond encrusted watch for christmas as a suprise that she doesnt know about so she's going to be really suprised christmas morning. My most expensive christmas ever. I can actually say I would be happy if she got me absolutly nothing. Not spending any more money would be the best present I could ever get!

This thread tickled my funny bone! What on earth could you really buy at Tiffanys for $1k??

I've never been in one of their stores, but I cannot imagine a 1k card could get anyone much. They could at least give you a 5k card!

The women on the phone said it was due to all my new accounts and in a year when its paid off theyll bump the limit up. I do have a ridiculous amount of new accounts I also currently have 3 car loans reporting open even though one is PIF just not reporting yet so that couldnt have helped. She was very nice they have there own in house financing and the nicest looking app i've ever seen. Oh and I cant wait to see what the card looks like!

....and some folks thought the AMEX glitter card was fancy. I bet Tiffanys is nothin' but BLING!!

If its anything like the application its going to be amazing. The app was in a tiffanys blue 4 way fold out envelope with a bow around it then the app itself was all tiffanys coloring and was laminated and had fancy lettering and text on it. Ill post a pic of it when I get it.

Not visible on different operating systems, or different computers for myself and others I have spoke with.

No not really. Only annoying thing is my Chase debit and Chase Sapphire are the same color and I get them confused all the time.

I can't see the pic. Am wondering if it's the same color as tiffs blue box?

I beg to differ. I use credit as a tool to get the best rates and to save money. I am careful not to abuse the application of credit. I definitely do not love it however.
