I also have that card. Started w/ $400 in September 2007. Scores increased and after 6 months, I asked for a CLI (a hard pull) and was declined. I shelved it. During that time my rate increased to nearly 29% and never was late. They said they increased everyone's rate. I never used it so I didn't care much. In June 2009, I decided to give a CLI another shot before closing it for good. They bumped the CL to $1500 at the cost of a hard inquiry. I won't cancel it yet, but one day. For my CLI, I called the number on the back of the card.

I am planning a cruise for March and noticed that Carnival had a MC and I knew Barclay pulled Transunion. App'd online and was declined but then I remembered a lot of posts about how Barclay's was really good with recons. Well...I called and spoke to a credit analyst and she asked me about high number of inquires which was due to car shopping and then said she could get me approved for $500 and get the card out right away...not a great CL but was happy to be approved. Interest rate is high though 24.99% and I misread terms thinking there was 9 months no interest but that was only on balance transfers. She did say though to call back in three months once they had a payment history with them and they could maybe raise my limit...funny she couldn't see from my credit report that I never missed a payment on any of my CC in three years Anyone have experience with Barclay's regarding CLI. Is it better to call that backdoor number to request?

What are your FICO scores? How many inquiries are there if you don't mind me asking.

Score was 690 FICO TU I think there were about 7 inquires within the last 24 mos on TU most of which were auto related. From what I've read Barclay's is stingy with CLI but I don't care really...I don't plan on using it as my primary card, just wanted it for my cruise...if they increase the limit, great...if not, I will use it to bill my Netflix and just pay it off.
