Credit Unions rock!

Lately I have acquired two decent cards. Chase freedom with a $800 credit limit( am still mad about it) and AmEx Zync. I swore to not apply for anymore credit until late next year to give the new cards time to age and regain the lost points. However, something unexpected happened. I had a savings account with a CU so walked into my local branch and while there the CSR bragged about their 0 Apr credit card, it occurred to me from what I gathered here( thanks guys) CUs are better than mega banks. Long story short, the app was the shortest I've seen. Approved with a credit limit bigger than the rest of my other cards combined.

0% for how long? 6 months a year? If it's for life, damn I'd take my sweet time paying off big purchases till my next one...

Wow. 7000 is a lot. Congrats.

I only had a gas card with a 400 CL. And my credit union gave me a credit card with a 1000 CL.

I agree, credit unions rock. Which credit union is everyone talking about in their posts?

My credit union is Chartway FCU. I got a $500 VISA in September. In December I asked for an increase to $1500 and got approved. They don't do auto increases, so in March I will apply for another one. They are my largest card so far (except for my dell account which is $2500, but I don't think that counts). So, of course, every chance I get I gloat about them as the staff is so nice, and when I was originally denied, they took the time to sit down with me, got an action plan, and now I am approved and moving on up.

Congrats! I'm currently with PenFed and may be joining University Credit Union if my bank(Regions) of 10 years start charging me $5/month to keep my checking account open.
