I applied for NAVY FCU Credit Card and they said they will send me the membership application in the mail and I should sign it and send it back with 5 dollar deposit for savings?

Or you could do it all online and make an ACH payment from your checking account.

I tried with the checking account and it says the same thing that they would mail me the membership packet. They just gave me confirmation number.

I hope I dont have 2 inquiries already 1 for savings and 1 for checking and I dont even apply for their credit card yet

I just signed up with NFCU.... They pulled(EQ) for the checking/savings account and then pulled for each additional product I applied for(credit card and line of credit).

you appd for 25+ cc's and didn't go for navy first! i would give a testacle to get in (civilian fed, ut no where near water so i can't) to get in with them.

I thought NAVY FCU credit card is pretty easy to get. I checked who gave me credit and people get approved with scores of 620. I know they check EQ. I have no collections on EQ.

you MUST be affiliated with the navy some way (current or retired navy, contractor working afloat or ashore, or civilian department of navy) to get in. they will not just let anyone join.

When I was filling out the application. It asked me for elibility. I picked DON CIVILIAN and then they asked me what Ship I put PA.

if you put don cilvilian you better have a paycheck coming from the department on the navy.

They were pretty easy to get.... They weren't that fast(took about a week) but I got a great credit line.... They gave me a limit if $15k for the MC @ 10.9% and $10,000 for line of credit(12.50 starndard)... My score is around 670... All they asked me for were paystubs..These new account are my highest limits to date!!! .

Thanks dnm. You are the best. People should be more clear about NAVY FCU then. Where ever I read it says you can apply for NAVY FCU they pull EQ. Nobody told me that they have specific requirements. I guess I wont have any inquiries on my report then, That is a good thing.

no question they are very friendly and appear to rival amex in cli's and customer service. the only issue i have with them is they won't let me in!

that's correct.... My brother is retired Navy... DIdn't know about the benefits of Navy until I started reading these boards!!!! :-) It really padi off for me!!

I'm a member of NFCU, and I figured that since it said NAVY, that it was understood that you had to be Navy or Marine Corps affiliated to join...I thought everyone understood that. If you put civilian and then just picked a ship...well, that's definitely not a good thing to do. This credit union is meant to benefit Navy and Marine Corps personnel and their family members. Not just any average joe can join.

any average joe can join, you just have to have a navy (uniformed, contract, civilian, or family member of these groups who already joined nfcu) affiliation.

to be exact a person on cb posted they got a job running a cash register at the px so they could join nfcu.
