Which card do you envy?

In the spirit of the new year I am curious as to what card others consider the most desirable and are working towards and for what reason do you envy that card? Rewards, generous CLI's etc. Bank or store branded? Happy New Year!

For me, The Costco AMEX -

- there's no annual fee, just keep an annual membership with Costco and we shop there ALOT, so it would be nice to earn a little something for rewards while shopping there so much anyways.

We're looking forward to a Costco Amex, too.

For us, it'll be the last half of 2012. But we've been members of Costco for mmmm five years? so we'll enjoy the backdating on that card.

My credit goal for the year is to get an AMEX credit card. I would like Blue, Blue Cash, or Clear.

I got my Zync in July 2010 so I am going to wait until July or August to app for one of those cards. I am waiting so long for some inq's to fall off.

I don't really have a reason that I want one, I just do! lol

AMEX CENTURION aka The Black Card. Biggest waste of money IMO. I have 2 pals with this highly coveted piece of machinery and its perks far surpass anything Ive ever seen. Im nowhere near that league but my envy lays with the Amex Plat charge card. Dunno why at $450 annual fee. Already have the Plat Delta Amex and I absolutely love it. Besides the $150 charge, get free companion tickets and I always use them on holidays. Delta is always overbooked so I usually give up my seat and get more tickets lol.

I just started on building credit so it'll be a while before I can attain my dream cards.

That said I have been eyeing on Cap 1 Cash Reward for sometimes. 2% cashback on gas/grocery and no foreign transaction fee.

I do want to get an AMEX as well, debating on Clear or BofA AMEX Cash Reward. Blue Cash is out of my way since I don't spend a lot.

Costco Amex

But just an FYI I do not believe they back date your account to your Costco date. It would be awesome if I am wrong

They backdated on my former Delta Amex to when I became a member of the Skymiles program. Why wouldn't they on the Costco?

Hahahahha ! Thats comedy. Visa has its own version of the black card (http://www.consumerismcommentary.com/compare-visa-black-card-american-express-platinum-centurion-cards/) but dont think its found mainstream success. The funny thing is alot of Pilots have AMEX Black Cards from jut being contracted through airlines. They are reimbursed for expenses that can rack up the 250K minimum. The feel of the card is pretty cool. Made of a light metal.

this tread is candy to me. i don't know where to start.

amex black??? save your money, what a JOKE. seriously, it costs around 7k in fees for the first year. then 2.5k thereafter. unless you are seriously, SERIOUSLY rolling in the dough, don't even bother.

one thing i am consistent about is NO FEES! my card collecting must NOT HAVE FEES!

here are some cards that cause me to drool just thinking about:

IBERIABANK classic visa

UMB platinum rewards visa

AMEX HILTON HHONORS

kind of drool over capital one yellow venture card.

and yes (sigh), chase sapphire. i wish i had a chase sapphire. but i figure that is a long way off. i need at least 800 before i should even consider it.

Ha!!, I've got you one better I have a Black Cap1 "platinum" card. I just used their custom card center....lol

Oh and I'm being very nice to Cap1 and HSBC so one day I'll have an AMEX...I just want my foot in the door don't care which card.. Also Chase SouthWest Airlines Visa Signature Card. We fly southwest a lot! but I'm Waaaay off from either so.....

no its true, you need only 760 to get the card, but knowing how flaky chase is, and given my somewhat shallow credit history as well as a poor mix of credit, i feel that it is best that i not even consider it until i have not apped for anything in at least 6 months as well as my fico being at or near 800.
