Just logged into my account just now and my eyes bugged out a bit when I saw that my credit limit was now $1700, up from $1200! That'll help my utilization a bit. Credit gardening for the win!

Congrats! I got an increase last week. Was at 200 CL and now 1800!!! I've only used the card twice.

My account will be a year old in Feb. When I first got the card cl was 800. Four month mark hit the luv button ------>1800. This last increase to 2100 was auto. I kept getting denied when I tried the luv button four months after the first increase.

JC Penney is pretty good at giving CLI, or rather once u have ur card for a few months 3-4, they do the first CL adjustment or realignment so the first increase looks really high.

I started mine with 300 in march 2010 (instant approval in store with only 2 months credit history). I was upgraded to 1500 in 3 months and now its 1800

Opened the account on August 2009.. Started off with a paltry $150 credit limit.. Got declined for EVERY credit line increase request I made. Then around June 2010 I was automatically increased to $700. Then a few months after that I was bumped up to $1200 and then in January 2011 I received my current limit of $1700..

I'm now tempted to get rid of my two sub-$1000 credit cards but I'll hold off on that until I see how things play out this year. The First Premier card ($350) DEFINITELY needs to go. I'd like to keep the HSBC 2% card ($420) though.

Congratulations to all of you on this thread for your cli's , but JCPenny for the most part can play hard ball in getting cli's, I have had my card close to 2 years now, and have been stuck at $1,800.00. I always pay on time and in full every month so I do not know what the rhyme and reason is sometimes

I have not completed required 3 months before i can apply for a CLI from my current 1800 but I suppose JCP tends to get sticky around this number...

JCP is gemb right? Well, i have figured out a way of getting large CLIs with gemb cards...make a purchase of almost upto your CL 1-2 week before your 4th statement cuts (since the last cli) and pay it off before the fifth statement cuts, you'll get a $1k cli at the least without even pressing the luv button. In my experience this only works for cards with $1k+ limit...

Sounds like a really expensive way to get CLI. In addition to that, it will keep getting more expensive every four months...

So I just logged into my JC Penney account, to see if by some chance I got an increase like many others. (I wasn't expecting one, as I don't ever seem to get the increases like others do.)

and boom goes the dynamite, I went from 1,100 to 1,600. An auto increase!

JCP has been kind to me. Got a couple of CLIs the 1st year - from $400 to $1600. They are helping me rebuild my credit and as a result, they have earned a loyal customer.

Was $1800 your starting limit? Or was that what they bumped you up to and kept you at?

My card will be going on two years now, but I did not start out with $1800. I started out with $500.00 then called over the phone for a cli went to $1,000, last cli was way last year sometime did it online to a limit of $1,800 and that was the last of it, I continue to get the same denial letter each and every time now, also I have the JCPenny platinium card maybe I may have some luck if I just do not use my card for a while.
