OMG I thought I was the only one with the addiction.Its not so I can go out and charge I just like collecting the cards.They are so PRETTY.What's scary is I have 3 CO's dropping off this year that is gonna jump my score.

Hi. I have been kona since I got my Zync card about 5 months ago. When I get some points back at 6 months it might be really hard not to apply for PSECU. Man

Hello, all!

I'm in the process of rebuilding my credit. Since last August, I have applied for and received four new cards. I need to let these age a while, but it's so tempting to want to push the button to try for another one -- especially since I've been watching my scores climb. I keep wondering, "Have I reached the point where I can get something better?" And I keep telling myself, "No, not yet. Wait for inquiries and a CA to fall off, old debt to be paid off, and let my new accounts age."

So, I'm starting a "Garden Club" on this board. On the first of every month, I'm going to pull my new score reports and share with everyone where I'm at. This will give me a psychological reward by way of announcing my new -- hopefully higher! -- scores, and give me incentive to stick to my current credit plan of not apping again until at least the beginning of fall. At that point, I come up for an annual renewal for one of my FP cards; I hope to be able to dump that card and replace it with something better.

Anyway... I would encourage anyone addicted to apping to join me as Garden Club members. We can work together to keep each other on the path to acheiving our credit goals.

I think that we need to start a different support group for that one, but it would be problematic. I mean, if anyone logged in to participate in the support group, wouldn't that be defeating the goal of the group?

Not to get off topic, but do you ever get surprised at how many people just don't want to even bother trying?

My name is Moe, I was a chain apper. I did 47 apps from late 09 to mid '10. I have been sobre eversince. I must add that the withdrawal symptoms are killing me; I start hallucinating in the middle of the night about app denials and then wakeup to a wet pajama.....

I have been app free for 2 weeks.I have set a goal for September.I will have 3 of 4 negs drop off by then and I told myself I can research for a lower interest card. God help me!

My name is Beam.......The only way I could curb my HUGE desire (especially as a newbie rebuilder) to app was to substitute a new vice. I needed a nicorette.

I became an AAofA tracker. When I looked at what my apps did to my beautiful AAofA, I wanted to never app again. Those deadly apps!

I could do it with paper and pencil but I made a mucho beautiful excel spreadsheet and I track the growth! I don't have to do anything but watch my numbers go up! But if I didn't track it, it just wouldn't be so motivating.

Now I track my AAofA each month and I figure what would happen to it if I app'd right now. I track the standard AAofA and also the AA of open accounts (because I'm somewhat nerdy). Next month I'll hit a new threshold. Pinkberry reward time!

No new apps for me for, well a good chunk of time. But my AAofA is looking more and more beautiful! It can take a whole lodda time to undo the damage from an app binge--or even (as I know too well) sometimes just a single app.
