Can I have more than 1 HSBC card??

Hello. I am currently holding a Household Bank Credit Card. I wanted another HSBC card, it it possible to get approved for another one. I pre-qualified for an Orchard Band Gold Mastercard on their website. Please, I don't want to waste an inquiry but need more TLs!

Based on my experience, no.... even if they send you offers for cards. I received an offer a week from them for almost a month after getting one card through Orchard.

From my experience, the max is two cards. I have an orchard secured and a BBRWZ card. Some members on this forum said they have three HSBC cards, but I think they obtained those a few years back.

2 HSBC cards here , both obtained July and August 2010. Orchard unsecured and BBRZ. Tried for the Household which would have given me a better limit than the BBRZ and was declined. I think I was told if I wanted to be approved for the Household I would have to give up the Orchard so its either one or the other in combination with the BBRZ.

Three here. I have the HSBC Platinum Visa. HSBC MasterCard. And the Best Buy Reward Zone Card. I applied for the Best Buy Store card and was denied because I have the "max" amount of accounts with HSBC. The Visa was opened in 05. MC in 06. And BBRZ in 09.

Yes. I have Orchard as well as HSBC Cash or Fly no AF rewards. I recommend the cash or fly card as they gave me my highest limit ($2,500). I'm rebuilding, but I think this is from their Prime line. You must be an HSBC banking customer (with either both a checking and savings or just checking) to apply for their cash or fly products.

PS - My TU and EQ scores are around 680-700 (don't know EXP). 8 yo BK. One paid collection.

I don't know if having the Orchard card prior to apping for the Cash or Fly card helped my approval chances in any way.

I had the Orchard Bank Classic Gold and Platinum cards. In march of this year (when card platinum expired) I was told they decide not to renew the platinum card. So I was left with the 1 gold card. A week ago, I did the pre-qualify link and was pre-q for their classic gold visa card. I applied not thinking that I already had the "gold" card. I assumed that, if the pre-qualified me, then it was ok. Anyhow, after applying online, I was told that they could not approve my app bec I already had the max allowabe HSBC cards. Anyhow, I called then and told them that I now only have 1 HSBC card, since the other one wasn't renewed. The rep said, that is correct but the closed account would have to have a zero bal before they could approve the app.

So I paid the $100 bal and called back. The new rep tells me that even thought the closed accnt bal is zero, the app can't be approved bec I already have a "gold" card. Stupid me, didn't even realize the "gold card" when I did the pre-qualification. At this point, I'm annoyed because I just got a hard hit for nothing! Despite me keeping my composure, the rep was quite rude and impatient; so I asked to speak with someone else. After being on hold for about 8 mins, a supervisor comes on the line. She is quite pleasant, apologizes, and approved the app. So now I have 2 Orch GOLD cards, lol. I still don't understand how HSBC can allow me to have 2 of the same card.
