AMEX Blue Cash approved after recon

Well I put in an app. for the amex blue cash card on March 15th and was immediatly denied

but after reading a great post here on myfico, I called the executive offices and had them take

a look at my app. on reconsideration. long story short i go back to the amex site and my app

status says approved. Im guessing the limit will be low , but with good utilization and paying it

in full every month I have no doubt my limit will go up. The only reason i even considered calling to have

it reconsidered was because i knew my credit was good (736) and i knew my other accounts with cap1

and hsbc were all either payed off or under 5% utlization. Plus the post that let me know they would take a second look

at my app was very very helpful. So if you know you've got a good score and other factors are posistive for you

and you get denied by amex dont be afraid to call and ask for a reconsideration.

Definitely and it shows up right on the top of the list of your accounts (alphabetically).

I am happy that recon worked for you. Please treat your card well and it will treat you well. Also note that if you were not instantly approved online, but were approved on recon, you may have something not-so-good on your profile which you may want to look at and address in future. Not necessary that there is something, but a good reason to look at your file to be sure.

Yeah I pulled my file and score from myfico about a week ago, I believe on thing that held me back personnally

from getting instant approval with amex was a few to many inquirys. Which Im hoping they considered as me

just looking for the best card i could get.

Then you don't have much to worry. Just go easy on apping over time.

If you are looking to add another card a few months later, add it now (if possible) so that all the inqs can go to hell together later.

I am a amex zinc card holder for about 6 months now. I applied over the internet for amex blue and they denied me aswell. I called the number on the rejection letter spoke a mgr and there re iewing it again. My question is should I call another number or what?

Give it a day. Check online to see if it says Approved. If not, call the executive office # found here on threads in the last 2 days.

I just think its nuts that im a alex card holder already and they turn me down! Its not like I have bad credit or anything also been very good with my zinc card. It mind boggles me wow. I don't see that corp number you all are talking about can you repost again if you don't mind thx.

Good luck! Be nice but explain you're a current card holder with no lates, etc. Explain a low limit would be accepted vs a denial.

update. I called exec office spoke to a very nice lady she asked what was wrong, I told her I was upset with approving me zinc but not the blue. I said very nicely" my credit good enough for zinc but not a blue and called it double standard" So she got all my info told me she will def look into it she said it made so sense me being an amex holder already my app is in pending status right now. let you all know the outcome when I get....

AMEX charge products are easier to obtain than their credit products. Qualifying for a ZYNC (not ZINC) does NOT mean you qualify for BLUE.

Ahh yeah jase T now I know who to contact for grammar classes! Lol. You must work for american express... Anyhow like I would say no sherlock! I know it doesn't but if they qualified me for one of there cards what's the freakn difference for the other like I said im good for one but not the other. P.S. feel free the correct this message.
