Barclays Declined !!

Here's why.........

Based on the information you provided in your application, you did not score enough points when compared with other applicants. The primary reasons you did not score enough points are listed below:

Low available credit on existing credit card(s)
Low number of satisfactory accounts
Insufficient credit history

* Low availale credit on existing CC ??

My current cards:

1. Chase Freedom $8K (available credit $7,800)

2. Chase Freedom Exclusives $8K (available credit $7,960)

3. Discover $15K AU (available credit $12,000)

4. Shell Gas Card $750 (available credit $700)

My UTIL % is under 10% on all my cards. I don't understand???

And to think I just closed a Chase Slate that has an available CL of $8,600, paid off and been a perfect customer since 1999.

*Low number of satisfactory accounts ??

I have one baddie (medical) in 9/2005. Since than, I have 5.6 yrs of perfect payments with no lates, etc.....

* Insufficient credit history ??

My oldest accounts is 21yrs ago with an avg. account age of 6.1 yrs.

All of this information is coming out of myfico.com.

This is what is all on my credit report.

Am I missing something here? I am shocked !!!

I guess I will wait til Monday to call the backdoor # to discuss.....

Just call the backdoor .. You will get approved.. just be prepared with the info like what you planning to buy and stuff...

Which Barclays card did you apply for? Did you ask for a balance transfer?

That's not going to help at all...

But the two Chase accounts should be enough.

Discover is from 1994, Chase is 2002 & 2008.

I have 3 inquiries on my TU last 2 yrs and zero inquiry last 12 months. Should I take the Discover AU off? Or could it been that medical collections from 2005?

My TU fico is 695 and Vantage score is 743 from TU website. Was approved for BB 3 days ago with CL of 750. my 1st department store card. Applied for Princess visa from barclays.

What kind of baddie you had in 2005? 30? 60? 90? or? Asking this coz according to me a small baddie should not keep your scores so low...

In anycase, I don't see any sense in the reasons give to you. Something has to be wrong, probably a computer bug...

i tried to apply for the nfl dallas cowboys mastercard and i got declined saying i have sufficent credit with barclays already that was the denial reason can anyone shed some light on this.

I apped for Itunes - approved and Priceline - approved.

Priceline Rewards for $4500

Itunes for $400 (closed) Asked for CLI - hard pulled on EQ.

I recon on Princess Rewards - they told me to hold off 6 months. They want to see how my priceline rewards payment/activities goes. I was surprised to get approval for Priceline but not Princess Rewards.

I think you're in the same boat as Lakerfan2011. They've extended as much credit as they're willing to at the moment and they'd just like to see how you're going to handle it.

i have had barclays for 3 years i started with us airways card then i went to the priceline card and now i want to change to cowboys visa card i have had 3 years pay history and i have a 8000 credit line . all i wanted to do was change products and they told me i had to apply for it now it makes me mad they give me this bs 3 years of pay hisory way over the minimums and i get the shaft

Yeah, I had the same issue. Wanted to go to a Chicago Bears card and they told me I'd need to close my card and apply for the card in order to do the PC. At 12.99%, that card isn't gonna get closed.

$8k on the us airways card? or did you switched from Us Airways to Priceline? and now you want to change Priceline to Cowboys visa? Sorry, kinda confused by your post.

Did you start out with $8k? or a lower limit?
