I've been lurking around here for a couple weeks and have finally decided to post.

After a couple of years of credit rockiness, I'm finally getting some good luck (knock on wood!).

Around the middle of last year, I had all my credit cards maxed out. Airtran, Chase, and BoA ($2500 CL each), along with my CapOne ($500) and my 2 HSBC ($750 and $1000). I plugged away and restructed some finances and was able to pay them all off. I did this all at the same time, which may have been a mistake, because before I knew it, BoA closed my account, Chase slashed my CL to $900 and Airtran/Barclay slashed me to $500. All citing high utilizations, etc. All of these cards are/were 5+ years old. At that point I decided I was only going to use my Gold AMEX and PIF each month.

Fast Forward to now. My EQ FICO is around 670 and my EX Faco is 715.

I took a chance and decided to apply for AMEX Blue, expecting a low 1.5 to 2k CL. I was instantly approved, with a $10,000 CL!!!!!

Since my inquiries were relatively low, I decided to press my luck and go for a few more. Here's what I got:

Citi Select - $4,200.

GAP GEMB - $1,000 (really, really, really kicking myself for this one - wasted inquiry to only get 1k).

Then after some research I decided to pull the plug and join Alliant CU. I was originally discouraged because I apparently flubbed up the identity questions and got the we'll contact you message. They emailed me back asking for the 2 forms of ID, which I emailed them back. Then I was approved for the savings account and waited till I got the membership materials in the mail. I got those on Saturday, 4/9. On Sunday, 4/10 I submitted the online app for their Visa with a 5k CL

Today I checked the online site and it said Approved!!! Yay!!! They never contacted me for additional info which is great. I'm wondering if it will be for the 5k or if it will be more. We'll see.

I'm so excited to start "gardening" now.....I want to let some of these inquiries fall off now. Sorry for the novel!

Yes. A released/paid Tax Lien from maybe 2-3 years ago. Also, 2 occasions of 30 days late. One about 3 years old, one about 18 months old.

I know these are some of the reason why I haven't officially entered the 700 club yet.

Just heard back from Alliant. They wanted 2 pay-check stubs, so I scanned them over. A little while later, they called back. $15,000 CL!!!! My best ever. YAY!!!!!!! And at 10.24 APR!!!! My best ever too!

I may have them look at an auto-refinance. I love that place so far!
