Chase uses the cheapest plastic!!

When I first got my Chase Freedom card, I felt how thin and cheap it seemed compared to my other cards. Tonight, I got a confirmation of that. At checkout, I had to swipe my new card twice for the machine to read it. How about that!!!

i concur. When I PC from freedom into sapphire the new card felt very cheap.

That doesn't sound like it's due to the plastic, but rather to the magnetic stripe on the back. Nevertheless, it is disappointing when a card has a "cheap" feel to it. Sorry to hear.

I too have the Chase Freedom and I will agree. However, Chase have been really good to me. Kept my % rate at 7.9% so I can't really say anything bad.

The stripe if perfect. I just got the card yesterday and tonight was my first time swiping it.

If you continue to have problems, then there is something wrong with the magnetic material on the card. If not, then it may have been dirty heads on that particular card reader.

I've had that feeling about more than one of my cards. Very flimsy feeling.

Its getting common now, even my renewed DL looks like half thin and really flimsy.

Most of us been around long enough to know that raw materials have increased in value, so I can understand the cutback on quality. I know Chase will send a replacement card in the heartbeat if/when you request for one.

vish1, what state do you live in? My wife may make us move, if her new DL would make her look half-thin!
