She said that the enw form does indeed sometimes result in a hard and advised me to just do the request over the phone as she would be able to see if it was pre approved and could still stop it before it went to a hard inquiry if not immediately approved. This is just what i was told by the CSR so it definitely isn't completely verified.

I love it --we all get different responses.

I started the online request but chickened out when screen 2 said that I was authorizing them to pull my report.

So I called up, and the CSR told me that any account open OVER 6 months (??) would need a hard pull for a CLI. Huh? But that they evaluate accounts every 6 months, and they'd send me something if I were eligible. (Without a hard, presumably.) So I backpedaled right on out of there.

I have a $4K limit, open >3 years, requested $1K. I don't use the card that much, so I was mainly doing this out of curiosity.

Oh, and if you do the online request, don't use commas in either the amount requested or your annual income. It doesn't like that.

Hi, I opened a Citi Forward card back in Nov and today I clicked on the request a CLI link on citi.com. It asked how much I want to increase, and my income. I asked for a $1200 increase but was only given $800, if I want more I would have to call and a hard pull is possible. Should I call or should I keep the CLI?

This is interesting...

Even a week ago when I hit the CLI link for Citi it has told me to call in for CLI request.

Today after I read this, I checked the link and it now asks "Increase Credit Line by..." income, occupation, and name of employer, and says By submitting this form you authorize Citibank (South Dakota), N.A. to check your credit history.

Can anyone else who previously got the call-in message (AKA it would be a soft pull) verify that it has changed in the last week. Is this form the same as the old hard form, or is it now soft, as the OP is saying?

Immediately on the next page it says you have been approved for an increase of $1200, NO report was pulled in this evaluation, would you like to accept or ask for more. If you have the short form and ask for a small amount you can get it without any pulls!

lol, we must all be trying it at once! I got frozen out four times in a row before getting to the Request a CLI page.

Still too chicken to try, though.

eta: Mine is a Home Depot store card, not a bank card, and I never got the call in message. So I don't know that what I'm looking at is the same as everyone else's view.

@Anonymous wrote:

I thinking this new form replaced the old, bc last week I got the call message and now I have the short form. I put a request for $1300 to get to 8K on DWs Thank You Card. Immediately on the next page it says you have been approved for an increase of $1200, NO report was pulled in this evaluation, would you like to accept or ask for more. If you have the short form and ask for a small amount you can get it without any pulls!

On the first page you provided information, and the second page it said verify your information?
