Barclays CLI

I requested a CLI on my LL Bean (Barclays) that I've had since November 2010. They had the option right on the main page and I requested $3300, from my original $6300, and they immediately accepted it to make my limit $9600 (I was going for an even $10k thinking my original was $6700 = oops)! It made me happy but I have yet to see if it was a hard or soft pull. Anyone know offhand?

Question - before I submitted the request it asked if I was planning on transferring a balance from another card. I checked no, but am wondering if they tend to grant more or less if someone's planning on doing so?

i think recent posts from other users for their barclay cards stated that they hard pull for CLI

Did you make the request online from your account? I noticed this option has appeared under Account Services the past few days. I have 2 Barclays accounts, a Visa and Amex, and was thinking of doing the request CLI on both. I guess if' it's a hard pull, i would go for more to make it worth the pull.

I was just about to post about this......my Barclays Us Airways card just grew a luv button also. 6 month account. I was debating to pull the trigger or not because I have two new accounts since then...

But it clearly states you authorize a credit check. docent say soft or hard.

Same luv button option on my Apple Financing account (Barclaycard) -- went for it ...

Was at $1500 CL. 0 balance for a couple of months.
Asked to double CL to $3000.
Got new CL of $2700. (I'll take it!)
Hard pull on TU (I checked my Amex CreditSecure report right after getting the CL increase). I had only one other credit card inquiry (hard) showing on my TU since my initial Barclay's inquiry 7 mos. ago.

Good for you.....congrats.

I on the other hand probably took a hard pull, and will be lucky if they don't close my account LOL.

They will probably look at it and go, he has two brand new shiny signature cards, he doesnt need our little world master card .....oh well, at least I went for broke....asked for $4000 off a $1000 CL.

Ill let you know in 48 hours, but I got a BAD feeling lol

I had been declined before about two months ago, but I think that was because the card was too new. At least that's what the emails I received (from two separate CSRs (!)) said. And, I have several new accounts showing, which I thought might worry them. But, I hardly use the card (22%+ interest rate, who would?), and the iMac I bought for DW on the interest free financing deal I paid off in the first three months or so. Maybe that helped. Good luck. Well the only thing I have going for me is that I PIF on all my CC's and I maxed out their card twice and PIF before the end of the month... Well see

Even though you PIF be careful about maxing out Barclay-backed TLs...it seems to freak them
out..and you did yours twice?

Yea LOL, at best they can decline the CLI no harm no foul. At worst they close the account. I dont really need it anyways with the two signature cards.

Call it taking one for the team here at myfico, an experiment if you will LOL.

Well, I just logged in to the site, and no phone call, no email. They poo pood my 4000 K request and gave me $1500, so its a $2500 CL total.

I still dont know if I took a hard or soft pull .....

Nothing ventured nothing gained I am surprised, I was planning for the worst

I requested a CLI last night through the website on Barclay financing visa and got a message that my request is being reviewed and I wlll get a letter in 10 days with a decision. I'm assuming thats a denial

I have a Visa and Amex with Barclays. The Visa has been opened for 2.5 years, the Amex will be 6 months old next month. I may wait for an auto CLI on the Amex to see if i get one. If not, i'm calling the Credit Analyst to request CLI on both accounts. Maybe i'll only suffer 1 hard pull for both increases, instead of requesting online for both separate accounts. Sounds like a better idea to me doing it this way. Any thoughts?

Also, i purchased 2 vehicles in March 2011, and i'm wondering how they will look at this????? No new credit card accounts have been opened since my Barclays Amex back in December 2010, as i've been waiting for the 6 month probation to end with them. I don't plan on apping for anything further anyway.

Any suggestions on how i should handle this, as i would love to increase both these accounts, and be done for another year.
