Maybe the last thing this board needs is another multipage post about PSECU, but I had to share this experience <STRIKE>briefly</STRIKE> ... (I understand if this needs to move to the auto loan board, but most of this discussion deals with ALL aspects of the PSECU experience, including credit cards ...)

1. I applied back when posts responding to HTSU's original post about PSECU and Experian FICO scores stretched only a page or two, if you can believe that was ever the case ... (!)

2. Was instantly approved for checking account and $20K Visa/LOC which, because it reports a total of $40K in available utilization, has tremendously helped my overall utilization (despite my suddenly, recently lower EQ and TU scores, which is a temporary situation caused by recent, significant use of a previously dormant card that I'm about to payoff again).

3. Have taken signifcant advantage of PSECU's 3.9% balance transfer option on the Visa part of the Visa/LOC.

4. Needed to buy my son a car. Was instantly approved for $25K (had to fax in proof of income only) at 4.99%. Ended up financing through the dealer/manufactuer instead because they SUDDENLY had a better financing option that they hadn't offered to me BEFORE I had the PSECU approval in hand. I'm left with a $25K check from PSECU and I'm thinking "how can I use this to my advantage, rather than just mail the check back to PSECU?" So I call them, and they agree to let me use the funds to refinance MY existing vehicle, cutting my interest rate down from 7.something% to 3.99%! Could not have been easier, and the few people I spoke with were (a) professional, (b) knowledgable, (c) helpful, and (d) nice.

5. I just checked my email and PSECU had sent me one asking "how I liked my new car?" The automatically generated email obviously didn't know I had refinanced. But, it also thanked me for financing with PSECU and said that my $150 for participating in their automobile-finance program had been deposited in my account. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THERE WAS A PROMOTION. Checked my account, and sure enough there's $150 in there that wasn't there before!

I cannot believe how a such a crazy lark to check my Experian FICO score once a month by joining a Pennsylvania credit union (while living in Texas) has proved so financially beneficial. Just wanted to share my experience. Would STRONGLY recommend PSECU to anyone.

When joining PSECU there is a hard pull correct?

Does that mean you might as well app for the Card/CL in addition to the checking account if you are already are burning a hard, or will it give you multiple inqs?

What kind of limits did you have on your cards to get a limit like that, and what income range?

+1 on PSECU. I already had 20K Combo. Recently got a $42,500 loan for Infiniti G37 Coupe. Promised 300 refund for using draft quickly. I also had to fax in proof of income and W2's. Was approved within hours of faxing docs. Draft in the mail the same day. No problems at dealership.
