Hey guys, need some help...

Over the last few years Ive beed stuck in the middle east, and I have been doing nothing but work on my FICO score, and collect up credit cards.

Now im in the phillipines for 3 weeks, and i cant use a single one.

I called my main bank that has my high CL BOA, and they are basically saying if your not in Manilla you are out of luck.....

Any ideas?

These are all the cards I have, maybe someone has tried before.

United Airlines Chase,

Usairways Barclays.

BOA Signature card with checking, savings and Merrill lynch investment

And a new Discover card that isnt worth jack...

I only listed the high CL cards, they all have 0 balances.

BOA says they can do a transfer but it will take 4 days......

Anybody? LOL any ideas?

Fortunatly, after being over seas all these years, I carry the international currency.......GOLD, just would not rather tap that.

Well because I was stupid, I didnt get pin number, and no onene takes them at the stores or resturaunts.......I shouldnt be surprised its an Ilsland nation....

I just thought out of everyone here, someone might have donne the same thing.

I can use my debit card for $250 a day, and thats it LOL

if you have the cash in the bank, why not just up your daily debit card limit? Pretty simple...

They can take it without the pin, US companies don't have a pin num for regular transactions. It's funny your bring that up, I just had a meeting about this exact issue today (I work in fraud and authrotizations for BoA). For whatever reason they have forgotten how they used to run cards before they had the pin system. They need to just swipe it as normal, perhaps on a diff machine, but they can take it. I see charges all the time from that area on accounts so I know they can. just some merchants are a lil uneducated...

Also if you are considering a transfer then you can potentially just take your card into a banking center and take cash off it since it will likely be the same rate as a direct deposit/transfer. Just need ID and they should be able to do it.

FYI, since it seems like you use BoA, if you log in to their internet banking, click on your checking account, left hand side options, near bottom of list, "check card settings", can change your spend/withdraw limits instantly.

Well, here is what happened. I called BOA, and they told me they would tie my CC to my checking account as Overdraft protection, but that it would take 10 days to take effect, and I told them, well how about I try it out right now instead LOL

She says it dosent work that way, and I said we will see LOL, I dont have 10 days.

Sure enough, it worked at 10 bucks a pop

Be aware that policy is changing on cash back/overdraft protection as well. Most customers will only be able to use 30% of their credit line for cash transactions starting June 25th...and if you get to June 25th and you are already over the 30% you won't be able to get anymore cash or over draft protections until you pay it down under that 30%. Don't know if you will be home by then but just FYI....
