IKEA reporting problems - anyone know what's going on?

Ikea closed my account last month, along with everyone else's. It was no big deal, as I didn't use it much anyway.

Today I got an alert though, that IKEA is reporting a new account. I really don't want to pulll my report yet as I'm waiting for 11 (YES - ELEVEN) inquiries to fall off from test driving a car and stupidly giving my information to a used car salesman, on a visit to a dealership in early July of 09. Grrrrrrrr!

Anyone know what GEMB/IKEA are up to?

Pulling your own credit report will not hurt your credit or show up as a hard pull on your credit report.

It is possible that multiple inquires (such as for the purchase of a car) might be treated as one inquiry if they were all on the same day or two.

This is true for FICO scoring purposes, but requires explanation in the event of a manual review.

Auto or Mortgage inquiries placed within a 14 day period count as only one inquiry. FICO allows us to rate shop in those situations. I believe this is correct, someone can correct me if not?
